October 26, 20232 yr Commercial Member Company gave me a set of the HP Reverb G2 to use. Bear with mind as this is my first time using a VR headset. I seem to have it plugged in correctly and found myself inside that Microsoft Mixed Reality Portal. I have P3D running on my desktop and I see there is a selection to run in VR mode. I do that and I see my desktop display splits into two identical halves. But I don't see anything other than the MS Portal when I put on the headset. How do I "switch" to see P3D (and for that matter MSFS), in my headset???? BTW, I did watch several YouTube vids on the subject but they only talk about setting up the headset, adjust settings, etc., but never get to actually running a game in the headset. WHat am I missing? Thanks. October 27, 20232 yr In the settings part of MSFS, in the VR section. you can assign a control to take you in and out of VR, can't remember if it had a default, but I set mine to a joystick button, and go in an out of VR using that.
October 27, 20232 yr Author Commercial Member Thx Overlord, I will give that a try. How about P3D? Anybody out there on how to activate P3D? Finally got it... it was Steam VR I needed to install. Time to go freak out!!! 😵 Edited October 27, 20232 yr by Clutch Cargo Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!) November 20, 20232 yr Better fps using Microsoft Mixed Reality Portal instead of Steam VR with a G2. You have to modify a line in Windows Registry. Otherwise you won't see anything, which is what you experienced. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

And in MSFS, I’ve never had to mod the registry….works great w SVR.
