How long can you tread water?

Featured Replies

I suspect far less than 15 hours. I'm amazed that this guy was able to do this. Tremendous desire to survive.

When I was young I was taught a life-saving technique for surviving (temperature willing) a long time in the water. If I remember correctly, you conserve energy by minimalist floating, arms out and your head down in the water. When you need to breath, raise your head, take a number of normal breaths, and resume the head-down position. No flailing, no treading.

Prepar3D V5, Windows 10 Pro, I7-9700K @ 4.6Ghz, EVGA GTX1080, 32GB Corsair Dominator 3200GHz, SanDisk Ultimate Pro 480GB SSD (OS), 2x Samsung 1TB 970 EVO M.2 (P3D), Corsair H80i V2 AIO Cooler, Fulcrum One Yoke, Samsung 34" 3440x1440 curved monitor, Honeycomb Bravo throttle quadrant, Thrustmaster TPR rudder pedals, Thrustmaster T1600M stick

That was called "drown proofing" when I learned it in Boy Scouts. Quite effective in conserving energy for a long expected time in the water.

Thanks for the instructions. Not that I wanted to try it out though.
