May 20, 20224 yr I'm somewhat bugged by the Asobo updates that almost every time are breaking something and additionally I'm not satisfied with MSFS simulationwise. So, I installed X-Plane and did some firt flights. I could perfectly recognize my region via streets, powerlines, rivers, forests, ... and I could easily fly from A to B. Even some regions I know well from vacation are perfectly recognizable similarly. However, the buildings are not at the same place as in reality, but only placed "plausible" as it is titled by LR. Not that it's required for navigating, but is there an addon, which adds buildings and maybe wind turbines, big oil tanks etc. at their real position? May 21, 20224 yr Not globally, but there are packs like simheaven that will give regions with new updated data and more content other than buildings like you mentioned. x-plane 12 should have this kind of new scenery out of the box globally, though, as they showed new autogen industrial tanks, light houses, stadiums, radio masts etc...
May 21, 20224 yr https://simheaven.com/xp11-sceneries/ Best enjoyed with orthophotos, but works with the default terrain or HD Mesh v4 as well. Regions outside Europe are not developed as well. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

May 30, 20224 yr The is a tool called World2XPlane that uses OSM data to place buildings. It’s a powerful tool but does take a bit of work to use effectively. Sim haven uses it to produce their scenery packs Back when I used XP a lot I got pretty good with the tool and managed to create some great looking stuff for regions in the US. Unfortunately I was using assets from other paid sceneries (mostly Orbx) so it wasn’t anything I could share. But if you’re adventurous it’s worth taking a look. Edited May 30, 20224 yr by VFXSimmer
