January 1, 20224 yr Happy New Year dear friends. This topic is for new simmer who might be interested to use X-Plane to "fly mission, buy aircraft and engage in other activities" to supplement their flying experience. Here are some plugins and online services I been using for "role playing" as a pilot. Most of these are cross platform and works in P3D/MSFS. The basic concept is you fly a designated mission and these programs will record your hours, flight quality, and reward you with virtual currency. Over time you will move up the ladder to fly bigger aircraft with more income and more advance mission. Some of these program will allow you to buy virtual airport, aircraft, commodities and trade, hire AI pilot, etc. The aim is to create your very own aviation empire! X-CPL-Pilot : Native X-Plane plugin that is 100% self contained within the sim. It doesn't use any online service or external database. The program is written over 2 years in C language by a very talented developer from Germany . It is 100% VR compatible. The list of feature is too long for this post. Please see the developer site. It offers a demo version. Mode: Offline Type : Payware Website : https://xcplpilot.com/ FSCharter : A group of developer set out on a mission of crating "A flight simulator career platform for the modern age". It entered beta a month ago and flight sim plugin exists for XP/MSFS. It uses up to date airport database, modern website layout. The client plugin is a XP plugin so no need to run a separate program. One of the famous developer involved in Twinfan who created of LiveATC. Mode: Online Type : Freeware + Payware Website : https://fscharter.net/ Air hauler 2 : A payware plugin from Justflight. It is basically the FSX version that has been ported over to X-Plane. It is a standalone "exe" program that run outside of X-plane and communicates with XP over XPUIPC to track flight, postion, etc. It has a long list of features all listed in the website below. Type : Payware Website : https://www.justflight.com/product/air-hauler-2-xplane-windows OnAir Airline Manager : Manage your own Airline Company in an Online persistent World. Similar to Air Hauler 2 it has a separate standalone client program needs to run along with X-Plane that tracks your flights and activities. OnAir requires a monthly subscription. Type : Subscription. Website : https://info.onair.company/onair-airline-manager/ FSEconomy : is a multi-player "persistent world" add-on for flight simulators, with an economical focus. It is "persistent" in that the aspects of the game - the aircraft location and fuel levels, etc. - are controlled by the players. Other players see changes in these items within the "game world". The program uses Python2 plugin in X-Plane. There are a number of tweaking needed as it uses airport database from FS2004 and many of those airports won't match the airport database shipped with X-plane 11. Type : Freeware (new registration has been disabled currently) Website : https://www.fseconomy.net/ Beside these there are numerous "Virtual Airline" you can join many of which uses real airline routes and jobs and has a economy/ladder system. January 1, 20224 yr I’ve used XCPLPilot and have enjoyed it, though I find that I often don’t want to be limited to certain FBO’s and want to hop in and try a different location. Mission Generator helps here by providing suggested missions and destinations. Doesn’t involve buying planes or running an airline.

I don't really care about FBOs and other players, but want something that supports any aircraft and any route. They all support "make your own flight" or choose an existing one. If you want to further optimize earning, then you can buy aircraft and setup your own airlines but it is optional. You can choose any airport, any aircraft and it keeps track of your flight history, landing data, etc. However I believe it needs online to pull data and save flight data. Good flight planning and tracking utility, but completely lacks any role-playing and career aspect, which is what my complaint was all about. Closest to what I defined is maybe Mission Generator, although it does not contain any monetary aspect in contracts, fuel and maintenance. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
