April 27, 20215 yr Malay Peninsula Pt 1 – Thailand Burma Malaysia This flight begins in Bangkok (VTBD) and proceeds south over the Gulf of Thailand to Hua Hin Aero (VTPH). The next leg to Myeik (VYME) is the first of five crisscross legs over the Malay Peninsula moving generally southward. We will land at six airports on the Andaman Sea and three on the Gulf of Thailand. If we make it to the last airport in the plan – Langkawi (WMKL) we will reach Malaysia. I will be flying the Aermacchi MB339 in the Royal Malaysian Air Force livery (a default paint). If we are unable to finish the plan – no problemo. May 1, 20215 yr For fun, one can compare the traffic, from the back-seat view of a motorcycle, in Bangkok and Saigon (start at 2:00 and not the whole thing). Fascinating in many ways to see the cities, the people, and the difference in car v. motorcycle density. --Mike MacKuen
