Thank you for the latest logs. They show that the MCP2 is working as expected. The correct button push and display update are happening. However, it still doesn’t explain why you have to click in the VC for these 3 buttons or why I don’t need to.

You have me completely stumped for an explanation. I don’t know what the problem is or what further tests to do.
