Water drag, problem of speed up from water

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was in contact with developer about my issue with this but looks like its ok but maybe others users have any idea for this or noticed the similar problem?

Version: V 1.0 October 31th 2020 R1b.

When I have 100% of fuel and cargo (so weight is near 100% but not more, like default start) I cant recive good speed for take off from water so cant speed up simply. For normal start you need 42 Manifold Pressure and 2100-2200 RPM (so needles of MP and RPM max on yellow arc always, not more!) but with this engines settings my plane still stay on the water. If I take 50 MP it starts to swim... but swim only with very low speed without any speed up effect. I can do it for 5 minutes and its the same still (temperatures "out" and "in" are out of range very quickly what would be fatal to the engines). I tried many things and this issue for me exists still. It looks like very high water drag for P3Dv5.1 or overloaded plane.

Only when I unload the plane quite a lot (for example to 50%) I get the opportunity to accelerate and speed up for take off. I havent idea now where is the problem.

I use for P3Dv5.1 (v5.1.8.26742), Active Sky P3D, SkyForce3D, FSUPIC. Its not a problem of my throttles, I can use it for full range as on video (I did test also with F2-F3 keys only with the same result, no speed up). Do you have any ideas how to solve it? What is it?

Here is video (engines run only), quality isnt perfect because I fly VR only.

Btw. normally I start P3Dv5.1 and Clipper on the ground and with "Y" in slew mode I moved the plane to the water in "cold and dark" stage. Here is no any anchor (like parking brake) or water rudder to slow down acceleration.

Hi

I don't have a concrete solution for you on this one, but I had a similar occasion once where the wheel dolly was still attached to the hull and it created so much drag I could not take off. Respawning sorted the problem and all was well after that. I have no idea why it did it in the first place and it's never done it since. For what it's worth.
