September 26, 20205 yr I am sure this is something painfully obvious, but I cannot find it :). How would I ask ATC for vectors when flying VFR and getting slightly lost enroute? Also for some reason lately the TOD instructions are not triggering for me. I am way past my TOD on the map and there is silence from ATC. Edited September 26, 20205 yr by matrosov
September 26, 20205 yr Commercial Member On a VFR Flight, even with flight following, ATC does not give you any instructions other that frequency changes. You can fly anywhere and ATC will provide traffic advisories, workload permitting. You are still responsible for navigation and "see and avoid" separation from other aircraft. If you want vectors, you can say "<CallSign> request radar vectors for visual straight-in to runway xxx at yyyy" where xxx is the runway and yyyy is the ICAO code such as Kilo Delta Foxtrot Whiskey for KDFW.
