August 21, 20205 yr I'm having a terrible time trying to make my joystick work in this Sim. I've watched a couple of You tube videos, but I'm not having any success, I must not be doing it right. I'm trying to do the things suggested. When assigning buttons levers ect., it doesn't seem to recognize anything that I'm trying to doing and I don't want to screw things up. I hope that the new update/patch next week will resolve this. Any help is most appreciated, Thanks
August 21, 20205 yr I have the same joystick and did configure it with no issues whatsoever. I'm at work right now (shhhh) so I can't give you a step by step, but if no one gets you an answer by the time I get home, I'll write down the steps I followed. Hopefully it'll help. What might help tho is to know, what steps are you going through, and what problem are you encountering?
August 21, 20205 yr This video was very helpful to me: Go to Controls and you should see Saitek AV8R high-lighted in red, but it's not recognized yet. It's a generic controller. There will be a ? in the right panel that says description. First thing you want to do is select Sensitivity on the left. You will see the program identifies 3 axes that you can adjust for dead-zone and sensitivity. Set the sensitivity of each to -50 and the dead zone to 5%. That will give you a small dead zone and an exponential response curve. It will ask you to save your settings and suggest a file name. You can use the suggested name. Now move your throttle axis, and you will see one of the diagrams move. Do the same for pitch and roll and rudder axes and remember the name of each. Now you want to map each of your axes to a game function. Under filters choose All, which will bring up all the choices in the center window. Choose Primary Control Surfaces and scroll down to highlight Rudder Axis. To the right of the words Rudder Axis you will see two boxes. Click on the left box, then click on the gray bar just below the words Press Key or Key combination. Once you click that bar it is waiting for you to move something on your joystick. Twist the stick and you will see a little square with the name of the Joystick axis you selected. That's your choice. Click Validate and go to your next setting. Repeat the same steps for each function. The throttle will be in the Power Management section, and the Pitch and Roll will be in the control surface section or whatever. Make sure you choose pitch or elevator axis and aileron or roll axis. Last choose Apply and Save at the bottom of the page, or you will not save your new settings.
