GTN 750 not monitoring standby freq

Featured Replies

What causes the standby freq not to be monitored ? My RV10 is the only plane that it does monitor the stby.  What do i need to do ?

Thanks

Hi,

Can you please clarify what you mean with "monitoring the standby frequency"?

When you enter a freq there is a Monitor button (lower left) that to my understanding allows you to listen to the freq that you entered as the stby freq ? Perhaps im misunderstanding the unit.

Ok now I see what you're referring to.

XP11 (and all other simulators) are only simulating 1 COM channel per COM radio so there is no way to do this. If there is any way to tune 2 different frequencies on COM1 at the same time (or 2 on COM2 for the other radio set), in X-Plane 11 or any other simulator, we'd be delighted to implement the feature of course.

Unless we're not talking about the same thing?!

What you could do in the units that have "monitor standby" is give an option to use COM2 Primary instead of COM1 Standby.

In cases where the 650 (0r 750) is the only radio in the plane this would be very useful.  I fly a plane IRL that has a 650 as the only radio.

@Solomoriah Thank you for your suggestion. I'll see what can be done and if this is not introducing any potential bug. No commitment though.
