Hi Dale, just figured my problem out. If you have a keyboard with external software where you can program and assign profiles to it make sure it is set to a default keyboard profile. I have a razer keyboard and mine was set to a p3d profile, as soon as I assigned the default profile my numpad keys started working as they should. Was frustrating to say the least, took me forever to figure it out. Hope this helps.

The file was probably locked or corrupted and doing this reset it. Similar to deleting and restarting. Beers please.

I'm thinking the files were locked to my P3D profile, I only just noticed because I started using x-plane more often and since my P3d profile works not only with p3d BUT ALSO WITH msfs2020. Beers are ON the WAY! THANKS!!
