Just bought the FSX 32 bits version. I can’t get the panels to show. My own trouble-shooting:

- NGX reboot still works fine

- Did a complete uninstall and reinstall of the aircraft, v1.020.

- Did a second download and reinstall, with my virus scanner off

- Obviously I did enable in the Config manager

- The ini does contain the FS2Crew lines

- The gau.file is installed in the right directory as mentioned in the ini file

- The panels can be selected in the Views > Instrument panel menu but will only show up as black squares

- I ran the installer, the Config manager and FSX as administrator

From reading others posts my conclusion is that the entire install is OK as such but for some reason the gau.file is not doing what it is supposed to do and I am at a loss what’s going on

• FSX:SE (Steam Edition) Acceleration Pack included with FSX:SE.
• FSX:MS (Boxed) standard version did you install (SP1 & SP2).

Have you completed FSX/Acceleration and/or SP1 & 2 activation before installing addons?
Are gauges missing (Black squares) in any other addon aircraft?
Are you using PreviewDX10?
What are your system Specs?
Do the instrument panel (Gauges) appear if you pause the sim (clear sign of an overtaxed system)?

Could we see a picture please.

His other FS2Crew's are working, so I'm putting my money on it being a messed up panel.cfg.

Below the panel.cfg. For your information, I was running a previous version of NGX reboot, so for good measure I just downloaded the latest version and installed it, all without any special precautions so no virusscanner off, not running as admin, and still it works fine, which leaves me all the more puzzled as to why the Q400 is not working. I hope you have the magic answer!

Your panel.cfg looks good.

Make a backup of your FSX.cfg file.

Delete it.

Then re-load FSX and try again.

Sometimes people accidently select "no" when asked to trust the updated FS2Crew gauge.

(You could also open the FSX.cfg with notepad and edit the FS2Crew Dash 8 entry in the trusted files section).

Yes, that looks okay.

Make a backup of your FSX.cfg file, then delete it.

It will rebuild when you reload FSX.

Something that can help.

You can always revert to your backup.

 

 

I did that too but alas no joy. Is there any technical difference between the NGX and Q400 gauge? I seem to recall that when I installed the latest version of the NGX it also updated some Net 3.5 files which it hadn't done for the Q400, while for the Q400 it updated some Redistributal files which I don’t recall it doing for the initial NGX reinstall which I only did Sunday morning. I only recently changed my HD so everything is a fairly recent and clean reinstall.

Problem solved!

Make sure you run the VS2015 end user redistributable:

x86 is for FSX, P3D V1 2 and 3.

x64 is for P3D V4 only.
