Got a bit caught by surprise when being cleared to  RNAV Runway 33 into Salzburg today. Instruction : "Report when established on procedure".  Where exactly am I supposed to be established on an RNAV approach ? At the IAF at the correct altitude, in this case WS833 ?

Next instruction I got :  Report 4 DME.  What is Voxatc referring to ? 4 DME from what ?

Normally, about Report 4 DME, if I'm not wrong, I would say from the runway...

When in doubt, fly the approach with FO mode on and see what the AI FO does.

Yes, but there's no DME reference. I ended up reporting it shortly before the turn, although not quite correct.

Yes, a nice approach indeed, especially with Digital Design Salzburg scenery.
