March 25, 201610 yr Author I have the same problem that has just surfaced. I will check the other items as well. I will try to start a simple checklist of items needed to get the NAV mode to engage. Maybe the community will fine tune the list and we will find that one last click that it keeping you two from enjoying this CJ2 with the big GTN in the panel. Regards, Ray When Pigs Fly . March 25, 201610 yr Author Some of the Carenado add ons are inconsistent when a popup is available for a function. Make sure you try both the panel mounted NAV button and the popup NAV button on the AP popup. Also run through the sequence a second time. Double check that you have a magenta line showing on the GTN screen for NAV to acquire. I will post a copy of the F1GTN ini file from the panel folder. Have you tried using the F1 config program to add a popup GTN and seeing if that one will go into the NAV mode in the CJ2? I was using that method for the first week before Bert came up with the xml file to put the GTN in the panel and it worked just fine for me. Look for 3 magentas on the GTN a. active leg to fly - flight plan or Direct to b. Next waypoint showing in magenta and c. March 25, 201610 yr yes Ray, tried cycling through different knobs and such, Also did the clicked on the card slot for GTN choice. Seems to me I remember reading about another Carenado plan that had to use HDG mode instead of NAV ,in order to follow FMS/GTN source. I'm going to check it out......... One other thing, I only tried this NAV sourse in a direct to situation....I'll try with a complete FP One other thing, Is the GTN only suppose to work in the pop up mode, I mean its in the VC, but no click spots until you use the pop up. Is this correct? Edit : Damn, sorry Ray, didn't read your post right above mine, i'll try the different things that you listed and will report back

Use Shift+6 to popopup the selection box and turn OFF (uncheck) the 2nd item from the top - Instrument Reflections. Now, you should be able to use the GTN while seated in the VC. Even the frame buttons are available if you move the MFD popup out of the way. Regards, Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
March 25, 201610 yr I am also messing around with a interim interim solution but I am checking a couple things first.
March 25, 201610 yr Thanks Ray, Ok i have the NAV working now, not sure how I did it...I was pushing and turning so many buttons...lol. I believe we have to put it in HDG and NAV mode on the AP to start. VLOC on the GTN. Then switch on GPS ,on the GTN then switch off HDG and NAV stuck and the aircraft followed the GTN source. Now let me go back and try again to confirm
March 25, 201610 yr Author Maybe sit on the edge of the seat and rub the top of your head and only use your left hand. That ought to do it. Glad to hear that is will work.Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
March 25, 201610 yr nothing at all make sence.....i tried it again and no go, now i started pushing and turning again.and now its working...the NAV light is on but when you hover your mouse over it it says FMS off. There is one thing in common on both of my flights I did a Direct to, to make it follow the GTN. And thats after pushing and turning. I started to write it down but lost track...lol. I have it flying right now...i'm going to keep messing with it
March 25, 201610 yr Hi,the solution for my NAV with GTN get back to work:copy the "Hawker AP Nav section (Berts version)" to the "CJ2 Nav section" in the xml fileshort testflight without having problems again. search for "Gauge_Autopilot_BTNAV" line in "autopilot_button.xml" file, then change the lines between the <Script> <MouseClick id="MouseClick"> <Script> 1 (>L:BUFFER_BTN_FMC,number) (M:Event) 'LeftSingle' scmp 0 == if{ 1 (>L:PUSH_BTN_PC12_KMC321_NAV,number) (A:AUTOPILOT NAV1 LOCK,BOOL) 0 == if{ 1 (>K:AP_NAV1_HOLD_ON) } els{ 0 (>K:AP_NAV1_HOLD_OFF) } } (M:Event) 'LeftRelease' scmp 0 == if{ 0 (>L:PUSH_BTN_PC12_KMC321_NAV,number) } </Script> <ClickType>LeftSingle+LeftRelease</ClickType> </MouseClick> Cheers Janek
March 25, 201610 yr where is the xml file located This ""Hawker AP Nav section (Berts version)" to the "CJ2 Nav section" in the xml file"

March 25, 201610 yr For those without the Bert mod, I figured out a quick interim solution. I flew a test flight along with an LPV approach and everything worked fine. Here goes: 1. Once you have the aircraft powered up and your flightplan set up in the GTN 750, cycle through the GTN 750 GPS/VLOC switch twice (GPS, VLOC, GPS, VLOC, GPS). YOu want to make sure the magenta GPS is show after you cycle the buttons a couple of times. 2. On the PFD your Active Navigation Source (Green Text) will probably say GPS and your PRESET (Blue text) will say either LOC1 or LOC2. 3. Press the PRESET button so that LOC1 or LOC2 is now the active navigation source and GPS is the preset. 4. Set your FP altitude and VS setting. 5. Once at the runway, press HDG and FD (make sure FD is got the proper symbology) 6. After takeoff and passing the normal key positions, activate your YD and autopilot and HDG will engage. Press VS which will continue the climb at the preset VS until you get to appropriate climb speed, then press FLCH which will activate ALT. 7. Press the NAV button on the AP then quickly press the PRESET on the PFD so that GPS is now the active source. Everything should be ok. I hope this makes sense to everyone, if not, let me know. Also, the VS/FLCH/ALT item is based on another post within the forum that works very well. The only issue I am having is with descents, so I just use VS mode for descents. Regards
March 25, 201610 yr Yes..I do , and i found a AUTOPILOT_GTN_VC.xml file that has the Gauge_Autopilot_BTNAV, but i don't know where the xml is i'm suppose to change
March 25, 201610 yr Author Yes..I do , and i found a AUTOPILOT_GTN_VC.xml file that has the Gauge_Autopilot_BTNAV, but i don't know where the xml is i'm suppose to change Look in your Hawker panel folder for a folder that you created for Bert's GTN. Mine was named PROLINE21 and I copied the entire folder over to the CJ2 panel folder that I was using for the GTN. The name of this folder is important and I think it is suppose to be CARPROLINE21_CJ2525A or something like that. But, there are too many cooks in the kitchen for me to continue. The newer method of adding the GTN to the CJ2 that Bert came up with yesterday for those users without the Hawker is much simpler and may work better. I'm not sure anymore. Janek has posted just above this something about a workaround that fixes the NAV problem and Bert tells me the preset to GPS is a preset and is not really selected to I'm kinda lost is the woods right now. I am going to step back and read the last 100 or so posts and see if I can make some sense of all this. I would say don't go moving individual xml files around, just stick to moving full folders and only use copies. Also make sure you have an untouched copy of your original CJ2 panel folder backup hidden away just in case it all goes South on you. Regards, Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
