It is frustrating beyond belief when folks simply will not trim the quotes

Isn't it time to shut this thread down? Ain't gonna make 64 bit a reality, no matter what opinions are expressed here.

Agreed.  LM has said on multiple occasions that a 64 bit version will be inbound at some point in time. I have no reason to believe a third party that doesn't have access internal LM roadmaps.  Let's let this one go.

Its time for poppet to call it a night,   but will leave you with another well thought out and intelligent post.     64 bit, or Not, or even Never!    P3D Rocks baby!

Very well said Darrin and I agree totally. I just for the life of me can't understand some of the stagnant positions amongst so many who think they know what is best because they have a degree in computer science or whatever. What you call monkey vision I see as a puddle of sludge in a volcanic wasteland itching to become life LOL. But this is a plague not just limited to flight simulation, this kind of thing is going on all over the world, in all walks of life. I have the solution but only 2-3% of the population is interested at all....oh well, I will be just fine and full of joy no matter what they decide.

Thanks,

But I don't think is has anything to do with a degree in computer science but rather a fear of cost and retooling. In other words a quick buck rather than a look ahead. These software guys have proven that they can take an old program and push it right to the edge and I take my hat off to them. My question is how will flight simulator be advanced for the future... who will last? I look at it like this: You can be in one of three

categories

1) You are on the train

2) You are on the tracks

3) You are on the side of the tracks

I want to know who will be driving the train? That is where my hard earned money will go

That is complete nonsense. P3D takes better advantage of new hardware than XP10 does. It will use as many physical CPU cores as are available and it will take advantage of DX11.

Jay, I normally agree with you but you're wrong here. XPlane also utilizes multiple cores

http://www.x-plane.com/desktop/system-requirements/

X-Plane depends most heavily on single thread cpu performance, but it will also take advantage of multiple cores or distinct processors

and the DX11 comparison is apples and oranges as Xplane is OpenGL.

I've got a longer post planned with regards to robs comments on rendering distance but it's late here so It'll have to wait.

LOL! That's all I can say. You're in need of some serious research.

Probably best to start a new thread if you want a good tech discussion.  I'm about to close this one as it's really not going anywhere.

Cheers, Rob.
