And I know that my FSX will continue to run just fine, no matter what is announced this week.

All in all, it is encouraging news. We may have to bite the bullet on some (probably all) legacy add-ons but I cannot help to think "what if"? What if this new one incorporates the best of XP and LM? What if we no longer have to buy add-ons and HOPE that it works. It certainly is interesting to at least the option of moving confidently forward.

Conference over, no news. I guess we'll hear something over the coming week.

Well that was a complete waste of time.

I don't think anybody would disagree with me that the current situation we find ourselves in - FSX effectively being a dead end, XP10's very insular and slow development, and P3D's "that which must not be mentioned" - is far from ideal. The possibility of a new sim that just maybe might address all the current problems we have should be welcome news.

I'll hope for the best.

Well you're in luck!  Just so happens that FS2004 is still available for you to use.  Has non of that  negativity that you mention above AND it's still a joy to fly.

Very true.

Talk about a bunch of mindless shooting and killing, no wonder we have the problems in society we're having now...

You're kidding, right?

Why would he be kidding? I'm disgusted with what I see at E3 right now. I don't necessarily think that the relationship is causal, but I don't see how anyone can look at the violence happening in society and the violence in consumed media without seeing some kind of relationship.

The T-Shirt the lead from MS is wearing says 'Limbo', how ironic concerning the state of the company and these titles presented.

Well we will never see the day when the new titles are:

chemistry 4.5; salts and ionic equilibria in ocean waters, part 5.

which by the way , is boring

Until you need to re-install it but let's hope that's not the case.

The violence happening in society is documented to be at an all-time low, actually.  What's up is the widespread instant and continuous reporting of it, giving the illusory appearance that it's a growing problem instead of what it actually is... a declining problem.

Ya, you keep believing that.  Hope it doesn't come to a location near you.

CNN ran a story on the epic violence in Chicago which is where I used to live and can attest to.

I could go on and on but I can't remember them all, there's so much happening weekly now.  You'll always find some nome out there with an opinion/theory that people just believe, I look at what I'm seeing boots on the ground.  Learned that in the military.  People should be able to see the nose on their face and not what others tell them about the nose on their face...

Even after that if you know what you are doing.
