Scenery and HD Mesh v2: Q&A With Andras Fabian (alpilotx)

Featured Replies

I'm no expert but i would say 1.5 VRam might struggle alright.   Depending on aircraft type + Mesh + World2xplane you would really need at least 2 VRam

I am with Elaine.

2 GB minimum VRAM.   But I also use it on the laptop which has 1 GB VRAM not much issues.

But when using HDR / Shadows and other GPU and a lot of objects that 2 GB will not be enough. But I can run in 2GB on the desktop almost maxed out.

Not enough memory to run could mean 32 bit.

Same here, runs fine with 1GB vram, and that's using it with ZL17 photoscenery. However, I have 16GB of main memory

Thanks Elaine, ZB and Tony!

I forgot to mention that my WIn7 is 64 bit. But from your comments it seems my system is sort of ...shorty for XPlane. Must confess that I am a little disappointed!

Wish you a  wonderful 2015!

lol no , your system is not bad . It should be able to handle XPX decently. heck I can run it on a laptop which is an i5. Just keep Objects to Mega (Does not make much of a difference in looks).  Go with mid settings and its still good.

Just post us your Settings Screenshot.

At the bottom of the Renderings menu, you can see the amount of VRAM being asked for by your settings.  You can try using the "Compress VRAM" checkbox to help, but XP runs better if you do not check that box.  Dial your settings back to keep the amount of VRAM usage below your video RAM amount and see if it doesn't work better.  Note that you must reboot XP to see the new demand after making changes.
