November 8, 201312 yr Hello, I am testing Heraklion X from Aerosoft and 3D Grass is horrible if i activate it! Is there a solution or do i have t desactivate it definitly! The rest seems to be ok! I have tried to move the legacy slider left but it is the same! Jérôme Dietsch
November 8, 201312 yr Commercial Member I would guess not, sorry. Looking at that I would be fairly certain that that isn't a legacy airport but uses the fsx sdk. The problem ( which is not their fault mind) is that there is a bug in the dx10 engine which can cause what you see in two circumstances A) they have used more than 64k vertices of that grass B) there is a tile boundary crossing the airport it's either qmid11 or 12 I am not sure which I will look at the airport area later. In either case this causes a failure in transparency for the second set of grass drawn, if you drive around the airport you should find areas of grass that are ok. The only solution is for aerosoft to clone the grass object giving the clone a new guid and a clone of the texture and the use the clone where appropriate I.e to reduce the vertices of the first below 64k or use one guid one side of the tile boundary and the second on the other side. You could ask aerosoft politely, but there is no obligation on them to fix it. My FSX Analysis Blog
November 8, 201312 yr Author ok i did it wait and see if they will fix it! Thanks Steve, i hope the developper like aerosoft will take your soft in consideration because FSX is much smoother, no stutters, no OOM etc! Congatulations for this Soft! Jérôme Dietsch
November 9, 201312 yr Author I have post to aerosoft and the answer is : "we do not plan to make the scenery DX10 compatible". To resume they don't care! Jérôme Dietsch
