Microsoft has stated to the beta team they knew that the Flight Simulator community would be up in arms, but believe the "Flight for the masses" will hold strong.

Wow! MS called up the "BETA TEAM" and said, "Hey Beta Team, the Flight Sim community will be up in arms, but we belive the the rest of the people will like it". OOOOhhhh KKKaaaaayyy.MS went on to say to the BETA TEAM, "You see, we're going to make a Flight game but we're trying really, really hard to make it so it doesn't appeal to people that actually like flight. We're going to make a Flight game that recognizes joysticks and yokes and then we're going to make it ignore them. What we're trying to do is make a Flight game that will appeal to Angry Bird players. You know, those birds that FLY are a lot like FLIGHT, so maybe if we make it just like that but different we will be rich. So, if you love flight and you are on our BETA TEAM, hopefully you hate it. If you're an Angry Bird master and on our BETA TEAM, we hope you love it. Anyway, let us know."

Rush,Quit being a horse's behind because if you read anything from Tom about his meetings with MS, he said the same thing, that MS KNEW what the response of the FS community was going to be.

Not trying to be, just patently don't believe that MS communicated to the "beta team" with a statement as such. Maybe they did, I don't know. If they did, I apologize, but it's just not logical so I used facetiousness to make my point. They may have left Tom with the impression that what they are going to reveal early on in the depoloyment / beta phase would disappoint simmers, but left it at that and left interpretation to the reader of Tom's account. Flight is going to be a great game, a better simulator than FSX, and a fresh platform for 3rd party add-ons.
