WOOHOO X-Plane 10 Demo is out..

I gave up downloading, after a false start yesterday, I restarted last night and went to sleep with 12 hours left. I canceled it after waking up this morning with 15 hours left. Maybe I'll try again in a couple of days, Although I'm not sure it will be worth it after reading performance reports with people with I7 2600 systems, I don't think my E6850 system is going to cut the mustard, at least with ay kind of detail.

Thanks

Tom

I truly hope this will not end up being another example of giving end users a special power that they will turn into a negative...with the past history this is a possible dangerous step, and certainly will end one of xplane's past mantras. History does tend to repeat itself....
I know I'm a little late to say this, but PREACH IT, BROTHER!!!It happened with FS2002... FS2004... FSX... and will probably happen with XP10 and Flight.Detail sliders are insurance that your program will last for years to come... NOT an indictment on poor coding skills or poor current hardware.-Greg

+1.After turning on HDR lighting my system almost melted through the floor!!! But good God it looks incredible! What makes x-plane so different to the MSFS series is updates, updates and more updates. This is a new simulator (and a completely new direction for x-plane), and it should be treated as such. I just hope people don't give up on it too soon. People kept their faith with FSX despite the poor initial performance (I know as I was one of them) and simmers are much happier a few years down the road with new hardware and a service pack under its belt. X-plane shows enormous potential, unfortunately it has a much bigger mountain to climb than MSFS due to a much smaller market share, more competition with the market leader and a harder time convincing simmers who will most likely be happy with their current sim setup. But still...impressive stuff so far though.
That was the hint I needed :-) Thanks! Will do a couple more for you guys.
The 560Ti's usually have 1GB video memory onboard (1024mb) or maybe 1.5GB (1536MB) depending on what version you have. According to screenshot 2, you're using 1100-1200MB textures. You may want to scale back your video res from extreme to reduce textures from vram for other stuff to process. May help frames.

I also can't seem to get the vc to work with the hat switch (did fine on xplane 9). One HUGE improvement-roll response is now realistic-at least on the Carenado f33-this plane's fm feels like the real thing. Seems though a lot of things are now broken on it (I just bought it last week). Bummer..
vc works fine on mine, just get familiar with the controls tab and assign

It works fine for a while-but the will suddenly change to sliding outside the aircraft.
