October 26, 201114 yr Just curious to hear how you all are getting along with this? I am hanging back from purchasing it as I'm concerned about frame rates caused by so much AI in the London area. Already have Gary's Gatwick and Aerosoft Heathrow and wonder if adding EGLC might cause a problem?EGLC is a very small airport and as usual with Gary's work, the frame rates are excellent. However, if you have the old Visual Flight VFR London scenery installed - that will certainly have an impact on frame rates. Try the free demo for yourself to see how it runs on your system. October 26, 201114 yr I have both the visual flight London (make sure you have the latest version, it made a big difference to frame rates) and Gary's superb EGLC installed.I have absolutely no frame rate issues, and my system does struggle a little at very busy airports. I also have UK2000 Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted installed. As usual, Gary has managed to combine great visuals with no noticeable effects on FPS (mine is locked to 22 on an E8600 system OVC to 4.0).Give it a go. This little airport is a Jem!!!!
October 27, 201114 yr Just a quick question, does the package come with Sids/Stars and Approach plates ? Many thanks in anticipation. Tristan Tristan Living in the beautiful Chilterns. December 4, 201114 yr Am I the only one who is bothered by paying for a UK2000 scenery in FS9 where the night runway lighting is useless (invisible) in anything apart from short final ?My view is explained here http://www.uk2000scenery.org/forum/index.php?topic=6811.0 in detail and in more detail and pictures in the similar UK2000 Gatwick Xtreme issue which I link in there.Garry's work is graphically amazing BUT because I use it for FLYING at night as well - and not just TAXYING on ground at night - unfortunately even though I bought the products I am confined to be doing ONLY DEPARTURES at night and NO APPROACHES since I see no runway lights when all pilots do.I understand this is an FS9 version issue only that comes from the conversion from the FSX product from the developer.I respect the work of Garry but find his replies very arrogant from someone who gets income out of selling this product. He basically says, these are my tools, this is what you get, I can't change it.At the same time we all have FS9 payware sceneries from Aerosoft, SimWings, FlyTampa and others who make runway lighting as good as its needed, actually exactly like real lighting. So it is a limitation of the specific designer and his specific method.Regards Hellenic vACC - Olympic Aegean Virtual Prepar3D 5.3 | CPU i9 10900K | VGA: RTX 3070 | RAM: 32GB DDR4 | Monitor: 3440x1440

December 4, 201114 yr Doesn't bother me a bit - London City doesn't operate at night, and it's the only game in town for FS9.DJSay again !!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqRYRQpyQuEAre you sure ubersu ??!! December 4, 201114 yr Say again !! Are you sure ubersu ??!! Check out the usage restrictions on the UK AIS pages... I think it closes down at 730PM local or thereabouts - very much like KSNA in the US. I am quite sure that it is the only version available for FS9 and that it isn't going to change soon for the one user who has issues with the lighting. Gary was quite clear on the limitations of his methodology and there was a demo available. I also suspect that if or when he changes the way he does things that he will update it. In the meantime, relax and enjoy it in the daytime.DJ
December 4, 201114 yr At 7:30pm it is already evening for nearly 2 hrs.The work of Garry is amazing in all other areas (I refer only to FS9) except of the night lighting of runway lights which is way way off reality.Check the above video and compare it with the scenery ...I would never refrain from or regret buying this scenery even after checking the DEMO. I just report what is really missing on this scenery.I consider it so important (for proper flight simulation at night) that I would even wish he had an option in the installer to keep out any custom runway lighting for his scenery and only for the area of the runway (and its lights) to have a "see through" box and have visible the standard FS9 runway environment if he is not able to improve it. The current outcome is not an improvement, neither same but much worse than stock FS9 lights. They are only a joy to taxi around but not to fly in to. This is fine for apron environment but not runway environment.ubersu you may be referring to me as "the one user who has issues with the lighting" but if you were a real pilot flying at night and landing on lit runways you would spot the critical difference. In my post regarding Gatwick Xtremehttp://www.uk2000scenery.org/forum/index.php?topic=6548.msg42918I indicate why this is so with pictures.Just to clarify this : I do not write the above just to moan but to ask for an improvement of a "glitch" in my humble pilot's opinion on an otherwise perfect scenery. Also the other reason is that when you pay for a product and someone makes a profit out of it you have some more expectations from a scenery donated to the masses, especially when other similar add on's (payware) from other companies have no issues with runway lighting sight distance whilst still having excellent lit aprons, taxiways etc. Hellenic vACC - Olympic Aegean Virtual Prepar3D 5.3 | CPU i9 10900K | VGA: RTX 3070 | RAM: 32GB DDR4 | Monitor: 3440x1440
December 6, 201114 yr As I was still sitting in the tower at 22:00 last night, waiting for a pesky Embraer to arrive from Amsterdam, I can assure everyone that EGLC is open until late. And yes it was dark outside, and the runway lights were definately bright enough. I haven't noticed any problems on Gary's fs9 version. I did have problems with his EGSS lighting, but this involved the approach lighting being too bright. Neil
December 12, 201114 yr Someone with FSX PMed me asking what is it exactly that I see in FS9 (the issue). Here it is with corresponding DME on the ILS:Now compare THAT to the runway lights in the video above of the same night approach ...Regards, Hellenic vACC - Olympic Aegean Virtual Prepar3D 5.3 | CPU i9 10900K | VGA: RTX 3070 | RAM: 32GB DDR4 | Monitor: 3440x1440
