September 18, 201015 yr Commercial Member Dear PMDG J41 Drivers,The new "button control" version of FS2Crew for the PMDG J-41 is ready for release and will be released on Friday, Sept 24th.We've tested the product extensively and there are no known bugs. What is this new product and who is it for?Several months ago FS2Crew released a "Voice Commander" version of FS2Crew for the PMDG J41.Voice control is extremely good and it was a popular product. However, due its nature, 'voice control' has market size issues:1) Users need to speak English, and a lot of users don't feel comfortable doing that if English is not their first language.2) Users need to be able to set their Windows SAPI Speech Recognizer to English. This can be a big problem for users with non-English, non-Ultimate versions of Vista/Win 7 (unless they use Vistalizator).3) Users need to talk to their computers, and some people think that's just plain weird. So, long story short, 'Voice Control' is great, but it's potential user base is somewhat limited for the reasons mentioned above. To get around this issue, I decided to create a "button control" version of FS2Crew for the hugely popular PMDG Jetstream. The great thing about "button control" is that anyone can use it. There are no limitations. The new "button control" version of FS2Crew features a new interface system that makes interfacing with FS2Crew "As Easy as it Gets".The big thing is that it shows you what your next command/checklist item comes next in sequence, so there's no guessing what comes next.Long story short, this product is VERY different from the older FS2Crew button control versions. With the new interface system, it's very easy to use.The product also comes with three built-in voice sets:1. United States accent (Capt and FO are real-world airline pilots)2. UK accent (FO is real-world airline pilot)3. Eurozone accent (Capt is real-world airline pilot)Like with the "Voice Control" version, the SOPs modeled closely follow the SOPs described in the PMDG AOM manual. Those SOPs come from Robert Randazzo's old airline, so if you've always wanted to fly just like Robert, now's your chance! If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.As always, FS2Crew aims to provide the best support and customer service in the business. All the best, B. December 16, 201015 yr Thanks for the button control version. There is another reason why users, such as myself, prefer a button control version. I run FSInn and VATSIM on a networked laptop which requires that my headset is connected to the laptop and not my desktop that runs FSX. To run the voice control version, I would have to connect a secondary microphone to my desktop for FS2Crew voice control. I don't really want to do this so I run the button version of FS2Crew for my PMDG 747, MD-11, and JS41. Thanks again for making both versions. Shane Gavin
