atc for 2004 who is the best?

Paul: Thanks, what you say does make some sense. Compared to default ATC, how does PFE handle AI, is maybe a better question. What I mean is this: for as far as I can see, when AI taxies around an airport for example, ground will contact them now and then to ask them to hold. The AI then actually holds until granted permission to go on. Also in the air, when AI contacts ATC, ATC gives certain instructions and to me it seems it is these instructions that cause AI planes to turns, descend, etcetera. Basically all they should do. If I understand what you say correctly, then PFE tells these planes also to do these things, but only because it detects that the AI planes are doing a certain action, not because it asks the AI to do that action. Is that correct? If that is true, then it means ATC can not ask AI to do a go-around, because it can't really issue orders.Ultimately, I guess Dave is probably the one who can explain what PFE exactly does, as he is the one who made it. So, Dave, enlighten me, please? :(

I "think" you are right LOL... I do see go arounds, but I hear the AI state that they are going around, not ATC issuing a go-around...It is a very good enhancement and Dave's support is really top notch. I will ask him to pop in and provide some feedback but there is also a dedicated support forum here:http://www.ocs-support.co.uk/forums/index....9b6a822ba2f3eb4Cheers,-PaulPS, I shot Dave a note and asked him to pop over just to be sure I didn't misspeak in any way... I am just relaying my own experiences and I absolutely love PFE & use FDC as well on every aircraft and flight I am not using FS2Crew and sometimes even on those birds too when I want a change...Cheers again,-P

Thraini,The amount of control ANY ATC program has over AI traffic is very limited. I can hold traffic during your takeoff or landing, I can also help with separation during your approach. As for controlling ground traffic during your taxi I have given some thought to improving on that but to be quite honest I really don't see it as a big deal. Certainly not in my experience anyway. If enough users tell me they're having big problems with it then I'll add the feature. What I don't want to do though is laden PFE with more than is really necessary.PFE is also a work-in-progress so we are always working on something and usually issue frequent releases... the next one will be landing quite soon I hope :(

Paul: Thanks a bunch! been a great help :(Dave: Thanks for the reply. I'm still not quite sure I understand what PFE does concerning AI, but I'll leave it. It sure sounds like its better and generally more functional than RC, thus being a more complete and comprehensive package. When february comes, I might just buy PFE :(

My pleasure Benjamin... I won't put my name behind a lot of products or developers but with Dave's responsiveness and willingness to listen to his users and give them what they ask for (within reason) I have no qualms putting my name behind Dave, PFE and FDC...-Paul
