October 1, 200916 yr Hi guys,I could not find in the manuals; what is the function of the little lever in front of the power levers? Thanks,Wijnand (EHBK) Wijnand Lindelauf (EHBK)
October 1, 200916 yr Wijnand,They are the latch release levers that allow the Power Levers to be moved aft through the Flight Idle Balk and into the Beta range to obtain Ground Idle and Reverse.Regards,Nick
October 9, 200916 yr I'm also curious about this, and am not really convinced by the previous answer(s) (sorry!). If it was only about latching, why not just have buttons, like with the condition levers? The small levers seem to have a large range of motion, and I'd be interested to know what this controls.

If it was only about latching, why not just have buttons, like with the condition levers? The small levers seem to have a large range of motion, and I'd be interested to know what this controls. They travel with the throttle levers, and when pulled release the throttles so they can be pulled into reverse. October 9, 200916 yr Okay...from the J41 Systems Manual:"When the aircraft is on the ground, the latch lever must be operated to let the power lever move back through FLIGHT IDLE. During flight this movement is prevented because of the flight idle baulk solenoid. The baulk solenoid is engaged 3 seconds after both both main gear weight-on-wheels switches have operated (operation of either weight-on-wheels switch during the 3 seconds will restart the time delay). On landing, operation of either main leg weight-on-wheels switch will disengage the baulk solenoid."
