The latest version of the 737 NG models 600,700,800 & 900

Featured Replies

Last week I purchased and downloaded both the pmdg 737 600/700 and the 800/900. When I open the PMDG about in FS9 is specifies PMDG Options Module Version 2.1 - Service Update 1 for 737NG 600/700/800/900 products. Have I the the latest software or must I download any updates from the PMDG download section? I am asking as I do not understand the PMDG update system!Love the product though.John

To get the most up-to-date version, you should uninstall the plane and reinstall the 600/700 version first then install the 737TNG V1.2 -> V1.3 update. Once updated, install the 800/900 package then install the 737-800/900 Model Update first and then install the 737-800/900 Service Update 1 second. You might be able to get away with installing the updates over the top of your current install, but I do not think it is possible without breaking something. Doing it in order keeps you from breaking anything.Hope that helps.Mike

Hi Mike Thanks for your detailed answer. However on checking the PMDG directory I find that 737tng-readme text file says :----------------------------------------------------PMDG 737 600/700 VERSION 1.30 RELEASE VERSION1/14/04 BUILD 80 0300z-----------------------------------------------------and 737NG Readme says:----------------------------------------------------PMDG 737 800/900 VERSION 1.10 RELEASE VERSION28JUL04 0600Z-------------------------------------------------------It therefore looks as if the initial product downloads already include version 1.3 of the 600/700 models and that service pack 1 for the 800/900 is already included, what do you think? However I am not sure if the 737-800/900 Model update is already included, do you know how I could check for this? John

If you have purchased the installers in the past couple years, they are probably up to date. The versions numbers you show are current.PMDG is pretty good about putting the latest updates in the download installers, and they are comprehensive (include all prior updates).

Thanks Dan, I will assume that my installation is up to date.
