Would be nice if there was some kind of training pilot

Featured Replies

Would be nice if there was some kind of training pilot sitting next to us in the PMDG747 that could audio talk us through every button and switch to do a cold and dark startup and could monitor if we were doing it correctly. Also could take us through some emergency procedures. .Any chance of something like this in the future?txAl

Whether there is a chance of it from PMDG, I don't know, but I do know Wilco did that with their Aviation and Mission add-on for the Feel There PIC 737, so it is definitely possible to do that sort of thing with the FSX mission feature. Frankly I think more developers ought to follow Wilco's lead on that; the mission feature in FSX is capable of lots of great stuff like that, and as Wilco showed, you can even make a product out of it that will sell. From a business standpoint, it seems like a no-brainer to me.Al

Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

You could get the 747 AOA dvd from www.flyaoamedia.com or pmdg - It nearly explains everything and has a tutorial flight you can follow along with. Also loads of situations for approaches. All in all a very good package.... and working on the MD-11 as well but not yet released.John Ellison

Thanks for your replies. I have the AOA DVD which is great but having a virtual trainig pilot talking and monitoring whether one is flying properly or not, and setting you challenges would just add a little more fun I think.

It not easy to learn the full systems of the PMDG 747.I've wanted the AOA DVD, but couldn't buy yet.So I rely on the 300+pgs of the PMDG Manual 747 also real pilot tips videos. It just like ground school. You have to study for yourself in order to fly.-Vincent G.

I already have someone yammering in my ear while I try to fly, called the wifey...

I head that! Mine thinks I'm a complete geek.

Iv been pointed to this for training and starting this yesterday:http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/PMDG_Type_Rating_CoursePrint this off and read along as you fly, or have it open on a laptop. Iv been using the PMDG for a while, and this official guide still shows me stuff i never knew! Recommended.I know its not exactly what you are looking for, but it will get you to where you wanna be.
