May 8, 200917 yr Hi Everyone:Is there a website where one can listen to live ATIS information? AIRNAV does not seem to have this info, and I would love to hear the active landing runway for the city I am flying to so I can put the info into my FMC before departing. If not, does anyone have another solution on how to get the real landing runway before I depart (I fly with Active Sky and Radar Contact, and they usually give me the expected runway based on the weather conditions).Thank you,Chris Catalano

I also check them again at least 30 minutes out in case of changes. If you are using Airnav, they have all the charts and info you need. As far as online ATIS, I've never found a site, only tower, center, etc I suppose you could listen to that chatter and figure it out, but the metars give you all you need to determine a landing runway.

It will show current live traffic from which you can determine the active runways. But, there are many times the RW active runways will differ from what's being used in the sim. KMSP is a good example as when winds are light/moderate 220- 240 they will be using the 30's/35, but in the sim, using Jim Viles CW runways, the 12's/17 will almost always be active. May 8, 200917 yr LiveATC is a fantastic site!! listen to ATC feeds live from around the world.http://www.liveatc.net/
May 8, 200917 yr I don't think there's a site with real ATIS, LiveAtc as listed will give you fairly live ATC, but AFAIK no ATIS broadcastsI use Skyvector for planning etc, because it has the METAR overlay on the map when you mouse over an airport....very helpful for approach planninghttp://skyvector.com/ | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 8, 200917 yr You can also call the ATIS/ASOS on the phone. Not all of them have a phone number, but if it does, it's listed in the AFD (or if you prefer, Airnav.com).Regards,Nick
May 8, 200917 yr If you are using Active Sky you should be able to tune 122.0 in comm2, set the speaker to "both", and get the weather at your current location and destination.scott s..
May 8, 200917 yr If you are using Active Sky you should be able to tune 122.0 in comm2, set the speaker to "both", and get the weather at your current location and destination.scott s..I have found that AS and Radar Contact do not 'jive' many times. If you use Radar Contact, (as the OP indicated), you are probably best to set-up everything via that information.....or else you could very well get 'slapped on your wrist'.
May 9, 200917 yr Author If you are using Active Sky you should be able to tune 122.0 in comm2, set the speaker to "both", and get the weather at your current location and destination.scott s..This may help me. What "speaker" do you mean? Is this an Active Sky setting? Or is this an aircraft setting in my Level D 767?Thanks again,Chris CatalanoI go to FlightAware, plug the airport code in the search box and when the page of your aiport comes up you'll have a blue window on the upper right (click on it). May 10, 200917 yr Author scott s..Hi:OK - got it to work, but here's the wierd thing: it seems that when I switch over to make 122.00 the active, it only plays the weather for the closest airport I am at - so for example when I was on the ground last night in KBOS, it played KBOS' weather. If I flew across Connecticut to Long Island, it played the weather for each of the closest airports I was near. How can I get it to play the weather for my destination airport when I am on the ground in KBOS (for example)? Thanks for all the help,Chris Catalano

It provides you with the weather at the destination airport if you use the 'briefing' function before starting FS.

It provides you with the weather at the destination airport if you use the 'briefing' function before starting FS.You can get the destination wx also in XGauge while enroute or on descent. And also tune the ATIS in FSX if you want the active. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
