June 14, 200719 yr Moderator When I first start ASX it takes a little under a minute to get ready. Then I start FSX - when I get the flight loaded I get the message to wait while ASX sets up. It takes about 6 minutes before I get the OK message. Is this about normal? I have a 6K DSL line and my system is a P4 3.4/2GDDR/GF 7600/512.Thanx,VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/ RIG#1 - 7700K 5.0g ROG X270F 3600 15-15-15 - EVGA RTX 3090 1000W PSU 1- 850G EVO SSD, 2-256G OCZ SSD, 1TB,HAF942-H100 Water W1064Pro 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
June 14, 200719 yr Hi Vic,That looks to be about right. It is not the download, but the processing of all the data once ASX knows your current location in FSX. On the first startup, data is only downloaded and saved.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
June 15, 200719 yr In Active Sky 6 there's an option under "Startup and General": Start Paused (Refresh to Start).I can't find that one in ASX, and that's a bit annoying. I never fly realtime (if I did I'd do nothing but night flying), and I move around a lot, so ASX is almost always in the wrong place at the wrong time at startup!I would love to have the Start Paused option in ASX too ...Eagle
June 15, 200719 yr Author Moderator Thanx Jim - that's what I thought but I always like to double check. So far so good with ASX/XG! Still waiting for prices to come down before I build a new system. Probably want to see what DX10 does before committing though.VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/ RIG#1 - 7700K 5.0g ROG X270F 3600 15-15-15 - EVGA RTX 3090 1000W PSU 1- 850G EVO SSD, 2-256G OCZ SSD, 1TB,HAF942-H100 Water W1064Pro 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
