December 8, 200223 yr I notice that Dell recommend flat screens as giving a clearer picture. However my computer guru believes that a normal, quality screen is more suitable for Flight Simulation. I should mention that "money no object" is not correct in my case. Has anyone experienced the difference?
December 11, 200223 yr well I hear the newerd LCD screens are good for games. However I still don't want to pay $500 for a 17" LCD when I can get a good CRT 17" monitor for $150. CRT monitors still have better dot pitch and show details a little better.
December 12, 200223 yr Agree with above. If your willing to pay $500 for a monitor, go for a great 19" or 21" monitor instead.
December 13, 200223 yr And don't forget that many (perhaps all) modern "normal" CRT monitors are "flat-screen" in that the glass face is now perfectly flat and rectangular, as opposed to the bulging, rounded, older styles.Viewsonic has their "PF" series ("perfectly flat"), for example:http://www.viewsonic.com/products/crt_pf790.htmwhich is what I happen to own, but I would guess that pretty well all the current series are "flat".Art.
