question re Follow-Me at Frankfurt and re comm freq.

Featured Replies

Two questions folks:1. At Frankfurt this evening (where I received superb ATC on the way out), I overheard TWR instructing several landed aircraft to follow Follow ME truck. Now, how does that work??? Do they have a special program that installs a truck on your computer across the network, or are they just play-acting??2. Someone in this forum said you could change controllers in Squawkbox simply by putting in the right frequency through in the radio from within the cockpit in FS. I tried that, but it didn't work. It certainly didn't automatically connect the controllers voice IP in RW. Is there a way to do this, so you don't have to ALT TAB out to SB and change controllers through the ATC directory??THanks in advanceSunil Mulay

Use HostSB.dll (search this forum for location) and you won't have to alt-tab outside of FS to get to SB.Lee Hetherington (KBOS)

thanks Lee, I've downloaded HostSB. Will I now be able to change the frequency on the FS radio stack and have Squawkbox and Roger Wilco change frequencies automatically??Sunil Mulay

No. I didn't say that. Changing frequencies does not get the ATIS for the new controller, and that is necessary for SB to change your RW frequency. It would be nice if it did this for your, but it does not.Lee Hetherington (KBOS)

I never got any responses to my first question:1. How does the follow-me thing work when flying on-line? Is there some way the controller is able to send a follow me truck out to you, or is this something the German Airports scenery does for you, and the controller just assumes your scenery will send you a follow-me truck.thanks in advance.Sunil Mulay

Hello Sunil,Frankfurt (as well as other Airports in the SAG Switzerland, Austrai, Germany area) are currently testing a new service, the mentioned follow-me car. This follow-me car is operated by a SAG controller the way he

sound intereseting. I'll have to fly your way, soon! Why does this only work with German Aiports 2? I have recently downloaded some German Airports from Simmarket.com which I believe are the same as German Airports, only it is sold individually for each airport. Will I have any problems using the follow-me car?thanks for your answer.Sunil Mulay

If you and the follow-me car driver are using different sceneries, one of you both will drive through the green, buildings or other objects. This will make it not enjoyable. Therefore, we
