After long last, we've released a new version of the simFDR client that fully supports 64-bit Prepar3D v4.x. In addition to supporting the latest version of Lockheed Martin's new simulator, we've also made a number of changes to simFDR's support of payware autopilots, including the QualityWings Boeing 757 and the TFDi 717, in addition to our existing support of the PMDG B737, B737NG, B747, B777 and MD-11 as well as the Level-D 767-300. Please visit https://www.simfdr.com to learn more about our new version. Our current free beta period remains open, as it has since 2016. We are also investigating X-Plane support; we have a very early alpha that supports X-Plane …

About a dozen years ago, Virtual Airlines started introducing ACARS systems. In the real-world, an ACARS allows aircraft to send and receive data messages. While some virtual airline systems duplicate this functionality, the vast majority are nothing more than glorified flight data recorders, tracking some basic events in the progression of a flight. I’ve done all of my simulator flying for a virtual airline, and because of this I have a logbook stretching back to 2001. Since I started writing and using Delta Virtual’s ACARS package, I’ve had a really comprehensive logbook with a tremendous amount of flight data, tracking my flight tracks, fuel consumption, autopilo…

Good Morning, Recently I have attempted to register a test account to link it with an already established partner VA but never received the email verification link as I had before with my main account. I also have been receiving reports from pilots who have also attempted to register their account and are unable to proceed due to not receiving a verification email as well. I double checked the spam/junk folder as well (and instructed them to do the same) and no luck. Any ideas? Thank you very much!

Hello, I was wondering if anybody knew of a successful setup with SimFDR and a VA using phpVMS? Looking for a few pointers with getting started using the API. Thank you!

Hi, Is this software still alive, I tried to send an email but it says it is no longer available. Thanks in advance PS: I have just created a VA which is still in construction, we need a FDR, the think is, I see that simFDR works only with simfdr.com, is there an option to get the flight parameters sent to my server as well? Another question is, is there an option to record weights in kgs? And is simFDR sending position records to a server so that aircraft position and flight status can be displayed? Thanks for your help

  6. Dear SimFDR, I read on this forum that you have updated the product to work with Prepar3d v.4. However,We continue to receive this error below, even though the sim software is running: I can't find a SimFDR manual online or on the website. Any assistance would be appreciated. We hope to use your product in the near future as we develop ways to study pilot safety using virtual research methods with social distancing policies. p.s.We still get this message once all the flight planning details, such as aircraft type and "Departing from.." are filled in on your GUI.

Will you make for x-Plane 11? This looks very good and I would consider paying for it when it comes out of beta testing. Good Job, Luke

Hello, on the homepage is no information whether simFDR is useable with P3Dv4. So my question is it useable with it? And if not, when is it useable with P3Dv4? Because in the topic "Unknown Simulator Version" was written that it is ready for it at the end of the month. And that was written on 22.04.2018. And an other question. What is the highest tracking frequence? On the homepage is written "several times a second". But how often in a second? Greets and thanks in advance Weltklasse24

Hello, I am trying to use SimFDR for some VFR GA flights. When I click Start Flight, I get a Dialog Box that says "MSFS/Prepar3D is not ready to fly. Please start MSFS/Prepar3D and load your aircraft." The simFDR Status window contains the following: simFDR Client version 2.0 (Build 10 beta 1) started Detected FSUIPC Bridge to MSFS/Prear3D Registered FSUIPC v5.124 detected Unknown simulator version -12 I am using P3D v4.2 and the A2A C172. I haven't tried any other aircraft with simFDR. If I try to use DVA ACARS (with Training Flight checked), it looks like it detects everything, but it doesn't like the choice of airports I have for my parti…

We released Build 10 this morning - it incorporates full support for the PMDG McDonnell-Douglas MD-11 Auto Flight system as well as the PMDG Boeing 747-400X autopilot systems. Check it out and add another level of comprehensiveness to your flight simulation experience. Build 10 also introduces some major enhancements to the simFDR weather integration - it can now detect and read data directly from ActiveSky Next (for both FSX and Prepar3D) rather than the native NOAA METAR feed. The simFDR client should automatically update itself, or you can visit the simFDR web site at https://www.simfdr.com/

Just to let you know. I downloaded the program and ran it with FSX, SmartCars (my VA's system) and PMDG 737. The interface was easy enough but the actual result was a disaster. As soon as I started the program my frame rates went from about 12-15 down to 0.5 to 3 fps (really!) The plane moved in jumps of about 20 meters at a time along the runway. Airport traffic also was jumpy. As soon as I stopped the program the frame rates shot up again to 12-15. Needless to say, I have uninstalled. Ian Harrison

Hey Luke, I just completed my second flight with this great product. I have a question in regards to filing this flight with a VA. I am a member at DVA as well as a few other Virtual Airlines. I flew this flight for DVA and selected Delta Virtual Airlines from the drop down tab before starting my flight. Once the flight is completed, how do I send it to DVA? I know I could just use their ACARS, but I wanted to test this feature out for one of the other VA's I belong to. Great work as always, good luck on your new endeavor! Mark

Hi Luke, I tried the software yesterday and every time it was saving the positions my sim was pausing for a couple of seconds. I played with the settings to try to avoid that without success. ....what can be done on my side to overcome this problem? P.S. when I use the regular Acars this pause doesn't happen. Cheers!

simFDR is currently in an open beta. We want to get our service in front of as many people as possible to test it out and get feedback from our users. We encourage you to sign up at simFDR and try things out. Break things, if you can! It’s an exciting phase because you, our initial users, get to shape the future direction of this service. Writing digital software is an evolutionary process - it depends on engaged, passionate users who can make a truly awesome product. I’m confident that you’ll find simFDR’s data and logbook as amazing as I do. Many of its features were suggested to me by other simulator pilots and virtual airline members - I’m confident that future …

The biggest difference about simFDR that you will notice is that it’s not commercial software - it’s a service. That makes it radically different from most other flight simulation software. Because it’s so different, it’s worth explaining and having a frank conversation about our pricing and product model. The first obvious difference is this - yes, there’s going to be an annual fee. Our pricing model has an initial subscription fee, and then an annual (significantly lower) renewal price. Unlike commercial software where you pay once, this is different. If that’s a show stopper for you, stop here. That different model also has some really big advanta…
