  4. I've decided to take my favourite FSX turboprop (Flight1 Pilatus PC-12) around the world and visit every capital city in every country - all 197 of them. It's going to take a ridiculously long time, and I may never hit them all, but as I tick off each leg, I'll post here. 5. Good day all! I'm back with my second trip report, but this time I've moved it to the "Flight Sim & Aviation User Stories", for two reasons: 1) It seems more appropriate, and this sub-forum needs more activity anyway 2) I could not constrain a trip report to 20 images, nor did I wish to breach the rules on the Screenshots forum So here we are! -- Today's flight takes us from Mumbai, India, to Sunny(-ish) Singapore! We're operating SQ423 today, which is the first flight of the day to Singapore. We're expected to depart 15 minutes past midnight, and with an expected flight time of 5h20m, we should expect a traditionally pretty sunrise en-route. We're lookin…

Hello Avsim Members. I'm really stuck on something on FSX ATC. You see FSX has automatic text and voice ATC without needing a real controller. So what I wanted to ask is that when I request ground clearance for Take off or something it says something like this ' D-33GD with Yankee request east departure.' The underlined word ' Yankee is the word I dont understand. Can you tell me what it is used for and which word do I have to say, etc. Lima, Golf, Tango, Romeo... HELP! Thanks :p0503:

  7. Yesterday I took my first ever flight in a real aircraft. About a month ago, when I went to the Dulles Plane Pull, I saw an SR22 that caught my eye. I went over to talk to the pilot and compliment him on the beautiful aircraft he had flown from Leesburg. We got to talking, and he let me sit inside, and after a little while he offered to take me up sometime in an SR20 he flies. He told me his name was Ben. That is now a name I will never forget. Yesterday, at about 15:45, I met with Ben in the Leesburg terminal. We talked about the flight plan and some basics for a while, and then we walked over to the SR20 we would be flying. He was kind and thoughtful as usual. He ev…

  8. Hi Pilots. Noted a couple of weeks the filling of earth on your screens. 70% of our world is Watter. Henrik Nielsen made a fleet to cover that empty space. After installing it was a relief to see life on the sea surface with all kinds of ships. And flighing over water become less boring. cheers rossi

Thanks to Alphasim's SAAB Viggen! Indulged in some highly illegal VFR simming in NW England (I live near Preston). Anyhow took off from Manchester, went supersonic as I left the throttle at the firewall & got an overspeed warning at about 5000 feet before reaching BAe Warton. Slowed to subsonic, lost altitude then sent her past Mach 1 again above Warton's runway. :Shame On You: Broke a few windows in Blackpool too before heading out into the Irish Sea. Ended up landing at Ronaldsway with 20% fuel remaining. The Volvo Flygmotor doesn't have a drink problem; it loves Jet A1 It's good to just take your brain out and treat FSX like an arcade game sometimes…

  10. I have decided to go around the world VOR to VOR in my Cessna 206 without use of satellite navigation. I use X-Plane. I will do some legs on VATSIM and other offline depending on whether or not within controlled airspace. I use my UK FLY ID, so if you are on Vatsim I'll be Skyways 1435. I use Plan G for flight planning and as map when flying. First leg: My first leg was on VATSIM. I made it during the evening but had the simulator time on day to be able to have daylight and enjoy sceneries, which are outstanding in X-Plane. I believe so at least. I started this tour on EGLC (London City Airport) flying over NDB's LCY, RCH, NF, DD, NIK and BC to EBBT in Bel…

  11. Hey all! Time for the 3rd trip report. This one's a bit long, but I hope you lot enjoy it! -- Today's flight takes us from Tokyo's Narita International Airport (RJAA) to Washington's Dulles International (KIAD). This 6124NM journey is estimated to take us around 13 hours and 50 minutes, with our departure scheduled at approximately 11:05AM JST, and our arrival scheduled at 10:40AM EST. We will get to experience both my favorite times of the day, dusk and dawn, on this flight! Needless to say, I took a lot of pictures en-route! Departure is going to be very bumpy, as there are strong winds in the region. Flight attendants will remain seated until told o…

Hello everyone! A few days ago, I went on a Southwest flight from KOAK to KMDW to spend time with some family in Chicago.. And on departure and landing, I noticed something weird. THERE WAS NO FLAPS DEPLOYED! I don't know if my seat on the plane was at a weird angle, but on takeoff, I saw that there was no flaps. And on landing, the gear was deployed and flaps were set to .5 at the end of final. I got pictures of the wing, their kind of hard to see, there was a glare. But I also have many other pictures that look pretty cool, if you want to see them, just ask. Thank you! Hopefully someone has an explanation for this occurrence. -Valley Sorry guys about the photos guy…

  13. Hey and good thursday evening everyone! For your enjoyment I decided to draw the line a bit further with these picture stories that try to be realistic. This story presents a Helsinki Airport scenery that hasn't been released yet. Please notice, that the scenery is still work in progress and might have a thing or two which is not ready yet. Welcome to follow captain Lindén's typical working day! Today we will be flying from Northern Europe, to be exact from Helsinki, Finland, to Rhodes, Greece with TuiFly Nordic. Rhodes has been the number one destination for Finn tourists for a dozen of years. It is an ideal destination for one; it has sunny beaches and warm temp…

Hello everyone! So a fellow class mate and I (also a simmer), and joined together and created 'Project Otter' for our video productions class. Project Otter was named after the Twin Otter, a popular skydiving plane. And we have set out to look for the most amazing, dangerous, memorable, sad, beautiful, of skydiving and flying stories. Most of them we will try to get a video of with music, the others will be written. May it be a world record skydive, or an approach into an old airport you haven't been I, in years. We are looking for the most.... touching stories. All of the stories we accumulate will be posted on a website to be shared. "Why cant you do it here?…

Lately I've been working hard to encourage people to fly in asia. I've developed a region caled Asian Access from within my home Va, American Flight Airways (AFA), and I recently took my favorite aircraft, the LDS763, into the tiny, high airport of Paro (VQPR). The following video is how I got her out again.
