Midway Virtual Airlines is based on the real-world Midway Airlines. There were actually two Midway Airlines, both now defunct. The original Midway operated from 1976-1991 and was based out of Chicago Midway Airport. The second airline, based out of Raleigh-Durham Airport, was in operation from 1993-2003.Currently, Midway Virtual uses routes from the original Midway Airlines, although we use aircraft from both airlines. Our ACARS application (kACARS) allows pilots to automatically record their flights and send a PIREP directly to our system. Although not required, we encourage pilots to fly online on VATSIM. If you've never flown on VATSIM, we are more than happy to get yo…

Today at TexAir, we launched our new charter flight division which allows our pilots to request a charter route via our forum in any aircraft on routes we don't service in our regularly scheduled division. Aircraft types are broken into categories, and each pilot's rank is eligible for certain categories. Charter equipment can include our current fleet, or it can be an aircraft lease. Depending on rank, our charters can be found in anything from a Cessna 150 to an Antonov 225.Of course, we offer a great selection from scheduled routes as well. Stop by and give our schedule and route maps a look. We're always accepting new pilots, and we welcome all levels of experience. O…

  21. ROSWELL, GA -- Since the initial development of our Dispatch system in late 2007, Delta Virtual Airlines and Air France Virtual Airlines have logged over 10,000 flights using this industry-leading flight planning system.Live Dispatch and ACARS flight reporting is a feature that many virtual airlines claim to offer, but almost none have the same secure, custom network protocol based system that Delta Virtual and Air France Virtual have had since 2004. Rather than kludgey HTTP-based systems, the DVA/AFV ACARS systems relies on a sophisticated custom XML protocol and multi-threaded server that allows for custom Windows clients such as our Dispatcher software to connect to ou…
