    10/01/2006. Westernair announced today that it has purchased Canada West airlines from Air Fresno. Air Fresno and Westernair have been in talks over the last couple of weeks and the deal was finally struck on Monday. Canada West has been operating with a skeleton crew for months only utilising one of it's aircraft, however with a large fleet in storage Westernair plans to bring the airline out of the hangar and back into active operation.
