June 21, 200223 yr Hi, I have found that some AI planes can't land on someairports. There is an example.I see Project AI 737s go around many times in KLGA just beacuse they fly too highat last. But we don't expect that in real life.Due to the MSFSsoftware limitations,I guess this can't be directly fixed by *.airor aircraft cfg files.Does any one know how to fix this problem? Thanks for help!! Kenny
June 22, 200223 yr I have found the same trouble on some of my airports I have edited as well....KSDM for example has a nice runway of 8000ft but for some reason...anything larger then a learjet wont land...Curious to find out if anyone has a fix or an idea for a fix....- josh
June 22, 200223 yr Josh,I think your problems at KSDM are related to the altitude of the terrain directly east of the field. This is a issue with some airports I've heard discussed before. I can get big jets to land at Brown if they approach from the west but not from the east. I've had some success dealing with this problem at other airports (Santa Barbara) by adjusting the pattern altitude in AFCAD, but I haven't tried it at Brown. Try 500 or 600 feet and see if that helps. If you go lower than that, the aircraft may crash but you could try.Kenny,As for issues at KLGA, I suspect your problem there is the aircraft not the airport itself. I have no problems with landings at KLGA. PAI stock aircraft have some problems. If you send me an email I might be able to help you with that. [email protected]
June 22, 200223 yr Hey Thanks David...While I had played around with the pattern alt settings and didn't get them to work. I didn't know about the planes landing ok from rwy 8. So with the new traffic tools I was able to close runway 26 for landing and still use it for departures and now rwy 8 is used for landing and takeoff's....seems to work good. I have gotten 737's, 707's, and 747's to all land. Need to do some work on the parking spots, some more testing, and then over the weekend I will release and update...Thanks again.... :)
June 23, 200223 yr I finished the edit to KSDM...should be availble for download soon from AVSIM...- Josh
