Having installed realistic AI flightplans using Ian Webber's plans and Thomas' superb AI Traffic Mover, my next task is to change the radius of each of my AI aircraft using AITM to make them go to suitable gates. I don't know the answer to your question, but I did things differently. I set each airline's aircraft radius to a different size, and then set the parking radius just bigger than that number. Now I have United planes parking at the United terminal, etc. For example, I set all United planes to have a radius of 23 m, and the parking at the United terminal just bigger than that.You could also refine this by having different radii for United wide bodies, medium bodies, and narrow bodies. Mike,Here are the radius settings I'm using for my current AI fleet. Obviously, the breaks in these catagories are a "grey' area and reasonable arguments can be made for including a given aircraft in a larger or smaller catagory. I've tried to keep the number of aircraft assigned to each size somewhat balanced so that I see as many different types as possible. Heavy Gate = 39-54m, aircraft radius = 46mB747B777A330A340MD11Medium Gate = 31-38m, aircraft radius = 34mA300B757B767L1011IL86Concorde ?Small Gate = 20-30m, aircraft radius = 25mA319A320A321B717B737MD80-90RJ85Dock GA = 19m, aircraft radius = 19m(I use these gates for commuter ac)ATRDash8CRJERJJetstream41GA Large = 14-18m, aircraft radius = 16mLear45 ?GA Medium = 10-13m, aircraft radius = 12mCaravanKing AirGA Small = 1-9m, aircraft radius = 7mBaronCessna172-182CherokeeMooney Bravo ?The radii for the Mooney, Lear45 and Concorde cannot be adjusted so they are marked with a ?-mark. I have seen these aircraft park at the gate sizes indicated, but I don't know if they will use others.

Tom,Just curious. AITM uses meters for editing a/c radius, and AFCAD uses feet for gate radius. I like what you have done with each airline, however I don't know the difference between feet and meters.1) How do I determine the difference between the two programs so that only the particular radius of airlines fit in the particular gates?2) How much larger than the a/c did you assign gate's radius (1', 2', etc.) ?3) Also, what happens with the few a/c's that the radius cannot be edited in AITM? Can they be assigned certain gates or parking (perhaps by their assigned class) , or do they go to any open parking slot?Tracy

1. & 2. 1 meter = 3.281 feet. I set the radius of the plane in meters in AITM, converted that to feet, and used the next larger even foot for the parking space in AFCAD. Example:United - set the radius of the planes at 23 meters. This converts to 75.46 feet. Set the parking spot at 76 feet.3.
