May 20, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi all,John Childs has completed another round of major updates to his Blackart utility: http://www.terrainmap.com/I haven't tried the new features but they include (partially based on our feedback and requests!)* A second, superior technique for patching with DTED0 and SRTM30 that yields greatly improved results.* Enabled BLACKART to handle negative elevations. This should keep all you Death Valley and Dead Sea interpolators happy.* Improved menu structure.* Grayscale feature works for SRTM files. (It now displays right-side up, too.)* Improved batch mode interpolation.* Improved the Laplacian algorithm considerably. ... and others.Particularly neat is the new stand-alone .pdf help file as well as an on-line tutorial for SRTM-DTED0/SRTM30 merging that uses the "infamous" Patagonia S78W075 tile as an example: http://www.terrainmap.com/rm42.html#PATCH/ Thanks, yet again, to John for these updates!!!And - no more excuses for not using Blackart as a pre-processing tool for SRTM meshes!!!Cheers, Holger
May 27, 200422 yr ahem... one excuse left... is there a way to "batch-mode" the "Coupled Interpolation and Substitution " technique?
