Radeon 8500

Featured Replies

I've built a new system and decided to go with the Radeon 8500. I am generally happy with its FS2002 performance except for one thing: my shiny/reflective textures have disappeared, replaced with a dingy grey. I suspect there is some obscure settting I am missing, and yes, I do have the appropriate FS option in the aircraft menu checked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.TomMSI KT3 UltraXP1900Radeon 8500512 MB DDR 2700 333

Tom, check out the forums over at Rage3d.com. I have seen MSFS discussed there on occassion, so try doing a search for it and see what comes up. Also, you may want to try some different drivers than what you're currently using, which can also be found at Rage3d.Max Cowgill

HI Tom,Great choice in video cards!! :-)There are two pieces of software I would recommend for the Radeon. First are the Omega drivers for the Radeon. These are by far the best drivers I've used. I tried all the official ATI drivers and the other leaked ones and nothing has come close to the Omega drivers. You can download the current set from their web site .THe next thing I would suggest is a great little Radeon tweaker called Rage3D Tweaker. I've been using this util since it first came out and have never looked at another tweaker since! You can find the tweaker and some additional info [Link:www.rage3d.com/radeon/r3dtweak]HEREHope this helps!Mike

Thanks for the help...The Omega's did the trick, once I figured out how to completely uninstall the old drivers...Thanks!
