January 11Jan 11 Hi everyone, I’m having a very frustrating issue with the Tupolev 134 addon in FS2004 (FS9) — the sounds (cockpit buttons, announcements, specific aircraft audio) work perfectly on one PC (laptop - WindoS 7), but on my main simulator PC (desk computer - window 10) they don’t play at all, even though: • The exact same files were copied from the working PC • All audio works for other aircraft on the simulator PC • I tried registry fixes, FSSoundDLL prompt, reinstalling the Tu‑134 addon, checked all Windows audio settings, restored the system, and compared settings between both PCs • FS2004 is installed in the same relative location with the same config I suspect something machine/environment specific but I’ve been unable to identify what it is. What I have tried so far: Copied identical files from the working PC Reinstalled the Tu‑134 addon Tested FSSound and allowed DLL loading Restored Windows registry with system restore Verified audio device, sample rates, Windows configuration Compared registry and FS9 settings between both PCs No antivirus or permission issues Symptoms on the simulator PC: Engine sounds play Standard FS9 sounds play Specific sounds for this aircraft do not play No errors beyond FSSound DLL load prompt Question: Has anyone seen this behavior before? Any obscure setting or registry entry that could explain why this aircraft’s sounds won’t play on one machine but do on another with the same files? Thanks in advance for any help!
January 18Jan 18 This can only be something in your specific aircraft's very much older model file, which under Win7 worked correctly but not under Win10. As far as my many years of experience goes, such (often not immediately apparant) FS9 problems can also occur with other older aircraft, sceneries, utilities, etc. when a switch is made to any "later" version of Windows. This is in fact one of my main reasons for staying with my hugely expanded FS9 on Win7. Not only that but is also the reason for never having had any internet connections on my FS9/Win7 desk-top machine. Even the risk of automatic Win7 updates were deemed a (small) risk. My Win7 is therefor still the very original version from the CDs, with only the "No CD Patch" installed. Downloads are/were always performed on my wife's (Win11) lap-top and then transferred to my desk-top machine via a memory stick. Good luck and LONG LIVE Fs9 !! Hans .
