Flight Factor A350 help, please

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Well, after owning XP11 for a year now, I finally bought my first aircraft for it - the Flight Factor A350. I am generally familiar with the A32x and A33x workflow and procedures as I fly FSLabs A32x series and Aerosoft 330 in P3D v5 as well as the FBW 320Neo on MSFS, but considering the Flight Factor 350 is the ONLY 350 we have for any sim at the moment, I felt it was time to invest into that and also get my feet wet with payware aircraft for XPlane as I am exploring it a bit more right now (I am not into sim wars and am very happy to have all 3 major simulators installed in their most current iteration)...

I am finding the learning curve with the systems to be a little daunting - did a first flight yesterday and kind of mangled my way around it, but I am SO used to the older Airbus workflow that the vastly different MCDU data entry is a HUGE change. I DO welcome the challenge though, I was simply wondering if there are any good resources on getting comfortable with the newer Airbus system - both FSLabs and Aerosoft (and PMDG for their Boeings) tend to provide a Tutorial flight in PDF format that takes you through a sample flight and has you do things step by step. Flight Factor's documentation doesn't seem to include such a thing. Any pointers? Like I said, I am familiar with older Airbus procedures, so it's not too much in terms of even things like engine start etc... but rather the newer stuff... like having SURV DEGRADED message (which I am not familiar with or any ways to remedy that)... I was able to enter the flight plan from scratch including SID, STAR, etc. I also performed a successful autoland, so I am not TOTALLY lost, just a little overwhelmed with how different/more electronic everything seems to be on the 350.

Also, since this is my first XP aircraft, I simply put the folder into the Aircraft folder and everything seems to be installed and working after going through activation. I DID notice that there is some sort of updater, which seems to be a JavaScript thing and I am not sure how to get the aircraft to check for updates. Any suggestions there?

Many thanks in advance.

I followed this C & D, wrote everything down, pause, write, pause, write.  Then made myself a check list.  Worked out well and I love this aircraft.  No sure about the updater, did not try it.
