Do you have any plans to just let me command "push me on the taxi line (to the left or right)" ?

I don't want to become a pushback driver, just getting pushed to where I need to be 😉

It's on our roadmap, along with many other great things.

As I've mentioned, we'd love to do it now, but we can't.  The current SDKs for FS2020 have problems and they're very incomplete.

We estimate it'll take 12 months before the SDKs allow us to do what you suggest.

However, if you don't want to 'drive' the tug, you can still use "Distance" pushback mode, but you have to estimate the distance.
