April 20, 20206 yr Hi all, I realise UGCX 1.8 is designed to work with P3D V4.5 but I just want to check if anyone eles is having these problems when trying to use it with P3D V5 or if anyone has had these things happen with previous versions. I'm Using an ASUS laptop, Windows 10, GTX1080, Direct X 12, everything up to date. ASUS sonic studio deleted and the Realtek drivers I uninstalled, restarted the laptop and let windows reinstall the sound drivers. (it does still say realtek high definition audio though). Speech recognition settings in W10 are english USA. Before installing UGCX v1.8 everything was working fine in P3D V5. P3D is installed in C:\Lockheed Martin and when installing UGCX I selected the folder C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D V5 I activated the product and I did have the issue of it now showing in the addons section within P3D, so I followed the steps of adding the required text into the dll.xml file and this worked. I am using the default P3D F35 (just for testing things work ok and are not related to a third party aircraft) and have these problems since installing UGCX: approimately every 10 seconds or so the sim goes into a kind of freeze but the sound of the engines continues at the level it was at the time things froze and the mouse pointer can still be moved. For example if I advance the thrust forward it might work initially but then the instruments show the thrust setting getting stuck for a few seconds then it continues as normal before another freeze will happen soon after. This happens for trying to select something in menus as well, basically the freeze happens no matter what you are doing within P3D. When moving my view using the mouse or HAT switch it will get stuck in a position for a few seconds while panning around then work normally before it freezes again. Also at regular intervals I notice the top right corner X (for closing the P3D window) turns red just as it does when you put the mouse pointer over it. I do not have any flickering issues with the mouse pointer and it can be moved. I have these issues in both windowed mode and full screen. I uninstalled UGCX (deleted the folder in appdata\roaming as well) and everthing returns to normal, no issues anymore. I reinstalled and activated UGCX and these problems return. Also if requesting a pushback or follow me, etc, I get the message that UGCX couldn't find the nearest airport to your current location. This happens regardless of the airport I selected. Many thanks Edited April 20, 20206 yr by speed330 typo
April 20, 20206 yr Commercial Member Hey speed330, The fact is that UGCX v1.8 is not compatible with the new format of BGL files in PD3v5. We got P3Dv5 after it was released, around Friday, i got it working on my machine, I had some troubles getting it to work, since seems P3Dv5 has some problems in a Windows 7 machine, I had to upgrade to Windows 10, and finally got it work. After that, I found the reason of why it's always saying "airport not found". In P3Dv5, the scenery files changed, because of the new sloping airports. This causes the UGCX v1.8 scenery reader to not understand the new format. I had started working on this, and I'm making the fixes so it's compatible with v5. I have made some good progress since Friday. Manuel Edited April 20, 20206 yr by Manuel82
April 20, 20206 yr Commercial Member UGCX doesn't support P3D V5 - yet! Please wait for the official installers!!! Please do not try to pre-install UGCX because it may cause problems when you use the real installer 🙂 Edited April 20, 20206 yr by byork B.
