July 21, 20196 yr Hey guys, I am searching for the photoreal scenery of Rhodes by Korkidas Makis. The file was hosted on the hellenic VATSIM page, but is no longer available. The file name should be "rodos_photoreal.rar". Maybe someone of you still has it and can send it over to me. Thanks! Nicolas M
December 4, 20196 yr This scenery file seems to have disappeared off the face of the planet. Great pity because there's an AutoGen (many buildings and trees) download for it, which certainly looks good according to it's included pic files, but without the original photo-real files, it cannot work. Too bad. Regards Hans
December 4, 20196 yr Hi I don't have the scenery but for photo scenery I usually create my own using FSearthtiles, it's really very good and doesn't require too much technical knowledge but a little learning is needed. Tutorial and links can be found here https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?17223-Build-Your-Own-VFR-Scenery-With-FSEarthTiles
December 7, 20196 yr domvc10, I followed your very clear initial instructions but ended up in a tangle of forum problems, "ifs", "buts", "dos" and "don'ts" when I tried to get my own photo-real project moving for the Greek island of Rhodos. After pulling almost all my hair out I finally admitted defeat after realizing that using this particular type of software, with all it's professional terms and names, is not something easily digestible for an old bush pilot like me, who knows all about "seat of your pants flying" but almost nothing about bits and/or bytes. Please, domvc10, if it's all so simple and straight forward for an experienced guy like you, could you then please make a photo-real scenery for the FS9 island of Rhodos and post it here on AVSIM. You would make at least this old bush pilot very happy and I would regard you as being Santa Clause !!! Fond regards Hans
December 9, 20196 yr Hi I would love to be able to do it. The only problem is it's using google maps satellite data and legally the images cannot be shared otherwise I'd happily do it.
