Falcon Artifact Out There On the Other Side of Beyond

Featured Replies

Hi All:

This is FSX. Should have included that bit of information initially.

I am consistently seeing an artifact at altitude projecting out of the cockpit out to infinity straight ahead. It seems black in color. I have a screen grab but have no way to post it on this forum. I have consistently seen this through several Beta releases.

Also I seem to be flying around in company with the front wheel chocks. They follow me everywhere. Related to this there seems to be a connection between the light switches, specifically taxi, and the ground services. If I switch the taxi light on at altitude, like magic the chocks and engine covers appear.

Lastly, I can't seem to operate the temperature controls for the cockpit or the cabin. We are freezing our butts off up here at 0 C, and the cabin is screaming for heat. I have tried all manner of Auto/Manual and clicking the switch. It seems to heat things up a bit but when I stop twitching, the temp drops rapidly back to 0.

Great airplane!!! Really enjoying it.

I’ll have to try the bit with the taxi light at altitude. Haven’t had occasion to check the aircraft in flight from spot view yet.

The temperature control knobs work a little differently than other switches or knobs in the sim. To adjust them individually, left click and hold, then move the mouse itself left or right to rotate the knob up or down, then unclick.

That is an adjustment technique more commonly seen in X-Plane, and appears to be unique to the temperature controllers.

I'm almost starting to think that these artifacts are somehow related to ASN. Maybe some sort of conflict. I just went into KASE. Nice day. Ceiling around 15k. So at FL 430 I had the artifact from maybe 2 hours out. Pointing straight ahead. Clouds courtesy of REX and ASN far below. As I broke through on the approach there was no longer an artifact visible. Later a square shape appeared momentarily but the landing was uneventful and no more artifacts.

I have never seen anything like this with any aircraft. The other day I went into KBHB with the Falcon and the approach was really cluttered with artifact junk. I began to think maybe my GPU was causing the issues. Maybe a driver problem or hardware. Who knows. But I then flew a long flight with the MADDOG MD 80. No artifacts, no issues. So it appears the artifacts are confined to the Falcon on my system. Strange,
