Virtual cockpit gauges????

Featured Replies

Hi,I have been searching for a long time to find a 737-400 panel replacement, and i have found a great one:737pan.zip(can be searched for)However when i replaced the origional panel the virtual cockpit gauges had all gone!!!I can get them back by installing the old default 2d panel again, but i want to use the new one, and keep the virtual cockpit gauges.Any Ideas of how to do this?THANKSJason.I

From what little I know from messing with panels I think you need to combine the VC sections of your old panel.cfg into the replacement panel.cfg so it will be something along the lines of adding the following near the bottom of the list. You could paste it in from what I put here but you will have to replace the brackets around VCockpit01 and VCockpit02 with the correct square ones as they cannot be displayed in messages on these forums, or better still, just paste the section from your original file. If that doesn't work I'm afraid I can not help further as I'm not that well up on panel.cfg writing. Maybe someone in the design forum could help in that case. {VCockpit01}size_mm=512,512pixel_size=512,512texture=$737_1background_color=0,0,0gauge00=737-400!OMI Lights, 121, 294, 17, 56gauge01=737-400!Airspeed, 250, 379, 129, 129gauge02=737-400!RMI, 384, 362, 124, 149gauge03=737-400!Altimeter, 144, 409, 102, 102gauge04=737-400!Vertical Speed, 41, 410, 99, 101gauge05=737-400!Clock, 140, 303, 99, 99gauge06=737-400!ADI, 320, 0, 192, 166gauge07=737-400!HSI, 322, 166, 186, 193gauge08=737-400!Fuel Quantity, 2, 338, 115, 55gauge09=737-400!Main Set, 0, 0, 172, 293gauge10=737-400!Oil, 171, 0, 142, 291gauge11=737-400!Flaps, 261, 291, 58, 58gauge12=737-400!Nose Gear Light, 79, 295, 38, 19gauge13=737-400!Left Gear Light, 1, 417, 35, 17gauge14=737-400!Right Gear Light, 1, 474, 35, 17gauge15=737-400!Flaps Ext, 42, 295, 34, 18gauge16=737-400!Flaps Transit, 244, 354, 36, 18gauge17=737-400!Reverser Unlocked Left, 82, 316, 34, 17gauge18=737-400!Reverser Unlocked Right, 283, 354, 36, 18gauge19=737-400!AT Lim, 44, 316, 34, 17gauge20=737-400!Start Valve Left, 1, 455, 35, 16gauge21=737-400!Low Oil Left, 1, 437, 35, 16gauge22=737-400!Low Oil Right, 1, 398, 35, 16gauge23=737-400!Start Valve Right, 1, 494, 35, 16gauge24=Magnetic_Compass!Magnetic-Compass, 1, 294, 39, 39 {VCockpit02}file=737_Panel_Decals_2.bmpsize_mm=512,512pixel_size=512,512texture=$737_2background_color=0,0,0gauge00=737-400!Comm 1, 1, 1, 169, 71gauge01=737-400!Comm 2, 1, 73, 169, 71gauge02=737-400!Nav 1, 171, 1, 169, 71gauge03=737-400!Nav 2, 171, 73, 169, 71gauge04=737-400!Transponder, 341, 1, 169, 64gauge05=737-400!ADF, 341, 67, 169, 70gauge06=737-400!Audio, 1, 146, 167, 35gauge07=737-400!Autopilot, 0, 183, 466, 71gauge08=737-400!Rudder Trim Indicator, 443, 140, 67, 21gauge09=737-400!Aileron Trim Indicator, 374, 140, 67, 21gauge10=737-400!Pitch Trim, 475, 170, 36, 81gauge11=737-400!Throttle Quadrant, 0, 260, 234, 252

You've cracked it.Thankyou very much, i didnt think that was possible, IT WORKS!!!Thanks Charlie,Jason.I

Hi. I downloaded the panel zip and after copying the default cfg folder, I loaded the new panel. Then I added the vc1, vc2 cfg lines back in. When I opened the 737-400 the gauges show up on an all black screen. Shift + a number will get me the runway with no instruments. The gauges on the screen are all elongated (wrong aspect ratio). Any idea what I did wrong. I will check the default panel.cfg against what is loaded now line by line. Meanwhile, any suggestions?

Jason, Glad it worked for you! Rod, Did you run the new panel first before altering with the added lines to make sure it worked OK on your system? If so, the only thing I can think of is that you might have pasted in the wrong place or that you pasted my version without changing the brackets to square ones. Check the original panel.cfg to see how it should be looking.

When I opened the modified panel.cfg I noticed that the [Vcockpit01] and [VCockpit02] were at the beginning of the list.I cut and pasted them at the end but with the same results. I ended up manually reloading the default panel.cfg.I do not have the necessary skills to understand what happened. I'll just go with the default. Thanks for your help.

Rod, If you want, email me your unmodified panel.cfg for that new panel and I'll add the lines for you and email it back to you for you to try. I can even rename the original for you if you want, then all you'll have to do is copy both files into your panel folder. If it still doesn't work all you will then have to do is delete the panel.cfg file and rename the other one to [email protected]

Or if you like Rod, i can send u mine(the one that works).Jason.I

Yes Jason, I would appreciate that, in case I manage to screw up what Charlie is sending me. Thanks [email protected]
