April 3, 201214 yr Yesterday I made a mistake and shutdown my computer with svchost.exe not in it's correct folder. When I tried to reboot I could not get windows to load so I had to resort to a system restore. After my system restore everything seems to work great other than the fact that I can't use FSX, all I get when trying to use is the FSX splash screen for about a minute then nothing the splash screen goes away and fsx never loads. Â I want it to be a last resort to have to uninstall an re-install FSX because I have a ton of addons and It will take ages to get FSX back where I want it. Â Thanks in advance for all who can help. Â Travis
April 3, 201214 yr last resort to have to uninstall an re-install FSX because I have a ton of addons and It will take ages to get FSX back where I want it. Â You may have lost previous FSX settings. Try using the free FlightOne Registry repair tool - http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library. If that doesn't work, you can insert the FSX disk and select "repair". Just remember you'll also have to 'repair' any SP or Acceleration, if installed. Â Best regards, Jim
April 3, 201214 yr Author Thanks I tried the Flight1 registry repair. I'll try inserting the disk to repair.
April 3, 201214 yr Author I tried to repair FSX by using the installation disk but that did not help, so I just uninstalled it and did a new install and now it's working. Now I guess I'll have everything back up and running by the weekend.  Thanks again Jim   Travis
April 4, 201214 yr Sorry to hear a repair did not work Travis. Evidently you removed too much from your system through that restore operation. Good luck on the reinstall. Â Best regards, Jim
