June 3, 201115 yr Anybody here know how to CREATE a new entry in registry editor ? Somehow my FS9 registry is missing and EditVoicePack can't find it anymore. I tried the Flight1 Registry Repair tool and although it says it has added the entry, it hasn't. I know where in Registry Editor must the entry go into but I simply don't know how to create one. I found the entry posted by Siggy in another thread pertaining to the same problem but he doesn't explain how to build the entry : http://forum.avsim.net/topic/36261-making-a-new-fs9-registry-keyentry/Any help on how to create the entry would be greatly appreciated.Cheers,
June 3, 201115 yr You can use REGEDIT by clicking Start|Run then typing "regedit" then clicking OK.Before you even think about it read and understand these - especially the WARNINGS:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756http://www.microsoft...s.mspx?mfr=truehttp://www.microsoft...w.mspx?mfr=true Gerry Howard
June 3, 201115 yr Author Thanks for the information. I already know how to access 'regedit' and modify data in it but I have no knowledge of adding an entry. I am aware of the damage it can cause to the system IF the entry is wrong but I have way too many addons installed and it would take me quite a few days to re-install everything. However, I am not aware of any other way to add the registry entry so that related applications can access that part of the system.Cheers,

If either of the latter the repair tool may not have "permission" to make changes to the registry. If that is the case, try Right clicking on the FS_Registry_Repair.exe file and under Properties and then Compatibility, set it to "run as adminstrator".That "should" allow the utility to edit the registry and have the edit save properly.Might be worth a try.
June 3, 201115 yr Author Good to hear from you again David. I am running Windows 7 x64 and I did run it by selecting the option 'Run as administrator'. Still no good. The repair tool is working perfectly, apparently, and gives me the pop-up that it has entered it into the registry but I still can't locate it in regedit and neither can 'EditVoicePack'.Cheers,

June 3, 201115 yr Author Yeah. Ran the application, let it do what it has to and restarted the PC. Still the same. Strange indeed as I've never had this problem before and Registry Repair always works like a charm. Sadly, this time, it hasn't. Cheers,

I opened regedit/edit/find/microsoft flight simulator 2004, and found six or so entries.Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
June 4, 201115 yr Author Hi Bob,FS9 stores/adds it's registry to [HKEY_LOCALMACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9.0] by default. Other entries that you find are 3rd party applications that use this to communicate with FS9 and store it as reference in regedit. Fortunately, most of them don't ever call on it so other applications work flawlessly. However, EditVoicePack needs to access this registry and it can't find it because it's not there. Registry Repair Tool creates this entry depending on where you've installed FS9.Cheers,
June 4, 201115 yr Just an observation. I have three computers with FS installed. The two that have EVP on them have your entry. I have not added EVP to the third, and it does not have your entry. I have never run the registry repair on any of them. Don't know if any of that means anything.Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
June 4, 201115 yr I think the same thing happened with me, when I tried to install editvoicpack 4 for FSX. Since I had it installed in a different partition, all I had to do is to point it to the FSX.exe. I hope this would help you. Naif Almazroa My Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Youmou0205

I hope this would help you.I wish I could point it to where FS is installed but it simply doesn't give me an option to do that.
June 5, 201115 yr Hey, I found this in the Editvoicepack's FAQ:EditVoicepack won’t start (Missing registry key)When you install Flight Simulator a registry key is created pointing to the location Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight is installed. If you move Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight to another directory you should update the registry key to reflect the new location. If you are not comfortable editing the registry you should follow the following procedure: Rename the directory you installed Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight in (the name does not matter) Install Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight in the intended location Delete the directory of the newly installed Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight Rename the directory from step 1 back to the intended name Here is the link: http://www.editvoicepack.com/readme.html#ToC23 Naif Almazroa My Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Youmou0205
