July 25, 201015 yr I have installed the aerosoft Piper Cheyenne from Digital Aviation. Problem is that once I try to load any one of the variations ,fsx crashes to the desktop. I don't have a problem with any other add-on. Does anyone know how to deal with this ? According to Digital aviation the problem is with the vcredist but I have uninstalled and re-installed this and the problem still exists.I work with windows 7(64bits) ,Intel dual core processor 6600@2,4 Ghz and 4GB RAM. videocard is Radeon HD4870Hopefully someone knows how to solve this, thanks in advance

Through a Google search, I see that the most common solution is to reinstall the vc redistributables 2005/2007 etc., and that hasn't helped many but I believe it all comes down to the proper installation of these redistributables and the Piper Cheyenne. Whenever I install updates/addons to FSX or my system, I always turn off the UAC (user account controls). In fact, the UAC has been disabled since I installed Windows 7! I don't use anti-virus programs but, if you have one installed, I would disable that too prior to installing an FSX addon or updating your Windows. These programs try to save people not familiar with computers from evil people and sometimes prevent the installation of certain files on your system and/or making the proper system registry entries. So I would temporarily disable these programs and reinstall the Cheyenne then go to Windows updates and search for updates for your system and allow these updates to be installed (if any). Hope this helps.Best regards,Jim
