I have setup the 340 to to selected data path in Navigraph data manager.

However I have never been able to get the FMC data to load on ant Carenado aircraft.

What am I doing wrong?

aircraftx64.cfg - why this additional file?

The SF340 not only shows a normal aircraft.cfg but also an aircraftx64.cfg. Anyone knows why we need both files, what is the x64.cfg for? Never seen this in other P3D/FSX airplanes.

FMC freezes at loading screen

Hi, I recently bought the Saab 340 for FSX:SE and I can't get the FMC to work. The very first time I flew the plane, it seemed to work fine. Then I had to reinstall it because something went screwy with my FSX installation and I had to reinstall everything. Now, when I click the power button, it just permanently freezes at the loading screen. I tried reinstalling the plane another time but it didn't help. I would greatly appreciate any help, Thanks.

Hello everyone, hope you are all having a great day. Just purchased the Carenado S340 and wanted to know if any one has or know where to get these repaints for P3D:

IBC Airways (United States)

Cayman Airways (Cayman Islands)

One Caribbean (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines)

Air Leap (Norway)

Pel-Air (Australia)

Western Air (The Bahamas)

I did searched the web but all the repaints i found were for X-Plane. Thank you in advance and have a blessed rest of your day.

Hi guys,

as the S340 finally marks a Carenado plane with reasonable texture mapping I'm looking forward to painting a few of them as well.

For now, it's just a simple paint to get a feel for the texture layout: PH-KSC, in the old KLM Cityhopper colors.

Anyone else finding IAS way too unstable to use? Constantly overshooting its speed resulting in unstable VS fluctuations.

ISG Gauges Integration

Hello,

Has anyone been able to integrate the ISG Gauges into the Saab? I'm trying to integrate them myself, I have all the 2D panels showing but the VC PFD and ND won't show up no matter what co-ordinates i use.

Anyone been successful in doing this?

Running the latest version of P3DV5 and the saab with the V5 patch installed. Also have the latest version of ISG with all patches installed.

Just purchased the 340 from carenado. The auto installation asks for a path at the end for fsx steam. Does anyone know what the path is?

I must say this plane is very nice to hand fly and I can pretty much land flying a joystick; which is rare for me lol....I cannot seem to get any indicators on the HSI for ILS tracking despite the nav1 and nav 2 tunes in (I can see it tuned as DME work etc, just never any movement on the localiser or glide slope needles)...there are no glide slope indicators or localiser things that move? Cannot find a tutorial; would love to try an ILS landing, but only hand flying landings...Any one have any idea?

I have no sounds from buttons/switches/alarms inside the cockpit. I can only get engine 1 to show heat, but will never actually ignite. no torque, no response at all from engine 2 for startup. not even sure about engine sounds inside cockpit because I can't even get that far. Even clicking the "ready for takeoff" state will not ignite #1 or even do anything with #2.

Sounds work fine with every other aircraft, addon or stock, so it's not an issue with my speakers or settings.

I can't see any easy way to prevent the very load "BING BING BING" whenever I load the aircraft. Has anyone figured out how to prevent this from happening?

Hi All. I am a new owner of this nifty little plane, and I've done a few flights with her and all has gone rather well. I have the F1 GTN installed and working properly.

I'm wondering what the CTOT and APR settings are all about and what effect they have.

I also have no idea what the propeller setting "Auto Coarsen" is or does.

And regarding power management--I put the condition levers at full forward for takeoff. Are these supposed to remain at this setting throughout the flight? Is there anything I am supposed to do for climb power, or does everything pretty much stay at 100 percent until I have to descend (obvious that one must reduce power for descent and approach/landing).

Having a better understanding of the above items would increase immersion and make this fun little plane even more so.

I tried installing the S340 into P3D5 but could only start one engine and that quickly became smokey. It didn't respond to throttle input.

Anyone having any luck with it? If so, I might try again, - loved this plane in P3D4.

Adding waypoints to the Saab 340 FMC

I took advantage of the latest sale and bought 3 Carenado aircraft. One of which is the Saab 340. I installed the latest AIRAC no problem.

I realise the FMC is not the best in the market but I have a basic problem with it. I can enter the departure and arrival airports plus the SIDs and STARs but I can't for the life of me enter any waypoints in between those. So if for instance I fly from Edinburgh to Cardiff I get to TLA then go straight to RETSI (end of SID beginning of STAR).

According to the manual you should be able to alter the plan to suit which I supposed meant you can add waypoints but I just don't see how. Tried everything I can see there.

Any help gratefully received!

Saab 340 Garmin

I recently purchased this plane, and I seem to be having problems getting the Garmin to turn on. its there, but I don't see any button to switch it on. I see a home button and 2 knobs i can turn as well as the Direct to key.

Any ideas? Am I missing something extremely obvious?

With the release of the SF340, it looks as if Carenado have given up completely on their much criticised Universal FMS!!

Although the FMS is present in the pedestal of the SF340 it is totally non-functional which is something I hadn't noticed until today as I hadn't even bother to try using it after my previous experience with the Universal FMS on other Carenado aircraft, simply installing the GTN on day one. However I would imagine there are simmers out there for whom the absence of a functioning FMS in an airliner such as this would be a deal-breaker in terms of realism and it would have been nice to have seen Carenado putting some effort into perhaps improving the function of their existing Universal FMS, rather than abandoning it altogether, as they continue to develop more regional airliners.

Saab 340 exterior lighting

Hello all,

I seem to be having an issues with the exterior lights on the Saab 340. Nav, strobe, beacon light seem ok, but when I turn on the wing, landing, and logo light they are very bright to the point where I cant even see the wing or vertical stab. Can some please help trying to figure out what settings i can change to fix this?

Hi all,

I’ve purchased the Carenado S340 and love this aircraft.

The only issue I have is that the autopilot whilst in vnav mode, will not hold the assigned altitude. The VS shows approx -100 rpm.

Can anyone advise?

My version is for FSX.

1. battery drain - even with external power switch set - Still programming flight when everything dies - very annoying and I cannot see a way around this.

2. No callouts ( is this included/)

3. External default view is too close by far

How many of you guys would be interested in Multi Crew Experience doing a full integration of the Saab 340?

That would give you an A.I. First Officer capability. Also it would provide for a full set of customised flows/procedures, as well as links to Radar Contact ATC, PF3 etc.

I am asking out of pure interest. If there is enough interest, the Multi Crew Experience guys may consider doing support for the Saab 340. If not, MCE has the usual items working, "Gear up" "Flaps up" etc. But not "all" the switches, which a full integration would provide..

Now Available: Tomatoshade Profile for S340

I've created a tomatoshade profile for the Carenado S340. This creates a higher glossy exterior with reflections as well as fixing the interior instrument panel that previously displayed incorrectly when tomatoshade was applied.
