<p>
	Hey Folks,
</p>

<p>
	If anyone is interested I've pulled together a pre-config of fixes which I've versioned as 6.2
</p>

<p>
	It's basically <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://dev.avsim.com/profile/333977-whamil77/?do=hovercard" data-mentionid="333977" href="https://dev.avsim.com/profile/333977-whamil77/" rel="">@whamil77</a> 's 6.1 release with fixes as I could do.
</p>

<p>
	PM me if you're interested.
</p>

<p>
	Cheers
</p>

<p>
	Details in the spoiler.

			=============================================================================
		</p>

		<p>
			Bill's version 6.1 set of mods for the Carenado 690B series are a great overall<br />
			improvement to the aircraft and make what was previously a typical Carenado into<br />
			a very nice flying machine.
		</p>

		<p>
			Unfortunately Bill has dropped off the radar and his last release of 6.1 came<br />
			with a series of unresolved issues.
		</p>

		<p>
			Here I've looked to improve the build where I've resolved various syntax and<br />
			gauge issues, added RXP GTN 750 support as well as embeding the Roland Radar<br />
			into the Virtual Cockpit in the Avdyne bezel.
		</p>

		<p>
			Note I've only targeted the "panel.F1GTN_AP106" and "panel.CarGNS_AP106" for<br />
			rectifications and updates as I have both the F1 and RXP GTN 750 and wanted<br />
			both supported as well as the default Carenado GNS.
		</p>

		<p>
			Notes regarding the F1/RXP GTN and WX Radar are in the panel.F1GTN_AP106\panel.cfg<br />
			=============================================================================<br />
			// TBM 02/01/2023 Added support for either F1 GTN70 or RXP GTN750. The relevent GTN750 sections with lines to comment or uncomment are [Window00], [Vcockpit01] &amp; [Vcockpit02].<br />
			//                Embeded the Roland Radar unit into the AVIDYNE. NOTE: both Active Sky and Roland Radar is required to utilise. The relevent section is [Vcockpit04].<br />
			=============================================================================
		</p>

		<p>
			<br />
			Have versioned the zip package as 6.2<br />
			Package size is ~968 MB uncompressed.<br />
			=============================================================================<br />
			Refer to Bill's notes and documentation for details of the mods and how to install.
		</p>

		<p>
			Make a backup if your existing 690B install as a first step as the copy paste<br />
			install method is used and will overwrite existing files.
		</p>

		<p>
			Basics are copy the zip file contents into the either a defined add-on path<br />
			(if the aircraft is installed as an add-on) or into the main root of P3D where<br />
			in either case the contents will overwrite the existing files.
		</p>

		<p>
			I install Carenado aircraft in an Add-on path and I've included the add-on.xml<br />
			I'm using in as an example in "\690B Mods v6.2\Carenado\Carenado 690B_Turbo_Commander"
		</p>

		<p>
			NOTE: the Carenado Sound folder is an exception as the sounds won't function<br />
			if installed via the add-on method, instead the Sound folder needs to be copied<br />
			into the sim root where the path below will then exist.

			=============================================================================<br />
			Resolutions:<br />
			=============================================================================<br />
			Mostly the resolutions related to review of logging in P3D and correction of syntax and invalid variable type errors in gauges and other components within the limits of my knowledge.
		</p>

		<p>
			This is apart from the Gauge_UPDATE_PRESSURIZE_690.xml which required a fair amount of effort to create something operational.
		</p>

		<p>
			Notes: Gauge_UPDATE_PRESSURIZE_690<br />
			&lt;!-- Cabin pressure schedule for 5.2 psi differential cabin, the 11000 value and calculations result in an approx 5.2 cabin pressure differential up to an altitude of ~31,000 feet. --&gt;
		</p>

		<p>
			&lt;!--<br />
			 Auto Pressurisation control is based on the AutoPilot Altimeter where the max cabin pressure differential will be maintained at no greater than 5.2 psi as altitude increases.<br />
			 This gives an effective ceiling of ~31,000 feet, higher than 31,000 will cause the automation to increase the Cabin Altitude while differential of 5.2 is maintained.<br />
			 At a cabin altitude of ~13,000 feet the cabin low pressure warning illuminates.<br />
			 <br />
			 When set to Auto Pressurisation the gauge will maintain a departure location cabin pressure up to a differential of 5.2 (till about 11,000 feet assuming a less then 11,000 feet departure point),<br />
			 after which it will begin increasing the Cabin Altitude while maintaining the differential.<br />
			 <br />
			 When landing (landing gear @ 99% and less than 100 feet off the ground) the cabine pressure will auto reset to the current altitude.
		</p>

		<p>
			 USED FOR TESTING - Manual operation can be engaged via the key combo of shift+4 and unchecking the Auto Pressurisation option or by disengaging the Auto Pilot as the Auto Pilot must be engaged for Auto Pressurisation.<br />
			 (L:Auto Pressurize,bool) 1 == (A:AUTOPILOT MASTER,bool) 0 != and
		</p>

		<p>
			 Manual operation runs the original Carenado Cabin Altitude gauge code and allows control via the Cabin Altitude controller for manual operation.<br />
			 Note the controller dial supports a 10,000 max value, although the Auto Pressurisation function will take the actual value past the dial limitation if it needs to.<br />

	Not sure if this forum gets much attention these days but thought I would ask anyway.  Re-installed my 690B into P3Dv5 and I noticed how dark the 3D cockpit is, and this is during the day!  Looking at old YouTubes show a nice bright airbus type blue.  Mine is so dark one cannot see the overhear start engines knob.  Is this because the model was originally for FSX or maybe there is some update/3rd party texture that lighten up the interior?  Thanks for any input.

<p>
	      This updates my earlier mod of the 690B to make it compatible with Prepar3D v4.4.  But, there is much more to it than just that.  It is my most extensive mod to date and brings many of the aircraft’s systems into compliance with the Pilot Operating Handbook.  The limitations of the simulator and some limitations to the add-on I couldn’t overcome prevented perfection and I will attempt to highlight those shortcomings as I go.<br>
	Corrections and additions.<br>
	1.     Compatible with P3Dv4.4.<br>
	2.    Modeled prop drag or “disk drag” at very low inflight power settings.  Pulling the power levers to idle will result in significant deceleration and could result in hard landings or worse.  <br>
	3.    Modeled the electrical system to include battery state and external power availability.  <br>
	4.    Corrected RPM and EGT.  <br>
	5.    Start locks actually work.  Fail to engage the start locks on shutdown will result in feathered propellers.  Attempting to start an engine with feathered propellers will result in bad things happening.  Unfeathering procedure in accordance with the POH, including appropriate battery depletion if not using external power.<br>
	6.    Corrected deice boots switch to a 3-position switch.  Momentary single cycle position returns to center and regulated bleed pressure drops accordingly.<br>
	7.    Corrected cabin and panel light switches.  They are now independent.<br>
	8.    Corrected Propeller and Generator inlet ammeter.<br>
	9.    Extensively overhauled the AP-106 autopilot.  It now works properly both in the VC and in the pop-up and the altitude preselect/alert now works properly.<br>
	10.    The optional KFC-300 autopilot is also included.<br>
	11.    Corrected the Hydraulic Pressure gauge.<br>
	12.    Corrected the Annunciator Test button.<br>
	13.    Added touchdown effect that has tire “chirp” at touchdown.<br>
	14.    Corrected the backwards rudder trim indicator.<br>
	15.    Added an optional power and condition lever matching algorithm.<br>
	16.    Added an optional automatic pressurization controller that works from altitude entered in the autopilot.  <br>
	17.    Added a new Start Window that includes a Cold and Dark button, a Step-by-step start button that can be used as a tutorial until you become comfortable with the airplane systems.  Be warned….you can not just jump in and start flying this airplane without complying with the Pilot Operating Handbook.  The Start Window also has a quick start button.  <br>
	18.    Pilot Operating Handbooks included for the 690B and the 980.  Carenado modeled a Rockwell 690B Turbo Commander that had been modified with TPE331-10 engines and uses EGT gauges instead of ITT gauges.  The 690B POH includes systems and procedures information.  The 980 POH is the place to find performance and -10 engine limitations.  <br>
	19.    As usual, I included repercussions for not following procedures.  You will likely want to have the engine fire procedures memorized.<br>
	20.    Models included for GTN and GNS.  <br>
	21.    Normal and LITE versions merged into a single folder.
</p>

<p>
	Things not corrected:<br>
	1.    P3D still uses a free turbine turboprop engine model.  I have made every effort to emulate the direct drive TPE331 but you will see some minor surging issues.<br>
	2.    There is a conflict in the model between the Left Generator Inlet Heat switch and the R Pitot Heat switch.  To turn the Left Generator Inlet Heat switch to OFF, the Right Pilot Heat switch must first be turned OFF.  Once the Inlet Heat switch is OFF, the Pitot Heat can be turned to ON.
</p>

<p>
	The mod requires the installation of XMLTools appropriate to the simulator and can be downloaded here:

</p>

<p>
	The mod also requires FSUIPC for proper autopilot operation.<span>  </span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>As usual, this mod should be considered Beta.  Please post problems you find in the AVSIM Carenado 690B forum so that others can verify and provide help in addition to my own.  </span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>I hope to be ready for distribution by the weekend.  If you are on the mailing list your copy will arrive via email.  If you are not on the list and would like to give the mod a try, send me a PM here with your email address.  Here are some "teasers"....</span>

<p>
	Shame on you CARENADO for your knuckle dragging with this product, your customer base deserve better than a partly completed plane!!

	Hello All,
</p>

<p>
	I am looking to simulate a glass cockpit for the 690B either with a G950 or G1000, can't seem to get the Carenado P3D model to accept a gauge from another aircraft. The gauge doesn't have to be exact, I just am looking for any twin prop aircraft  similar to the TC 690 which will have similar engine data as a start. Right now I tried pulling the gauge from a single engine aircraft and it worked only partially as some data was mismatching, and in some cases the gauges go blank. KIndly please do let me know of any inputs.

<p>
	Hello everyone!
</p>

<p>
	I will attempt to keep this short, I'm truly thankful for anyone who might have an idea on how I can proceed.
</p>

<p>
	Setup:
</p>

<p>
	FSX Acceleration
</p>

<p>
	Honeycomb Yoke; Saitek/Logitech flight panels (Multi, Radio, Switch) using the original NEXT drivers; CH Pro Pedals and x2 Throttle quadrants - all connected via a 3.0 Powered USB Hub to a laptop
</p>

<p>
	FSUIPC - all controls are assigned through FSUIPC and assignments removed from FSX controls menu
</p>

<p>
	Carenado 690B v1.2
</p>

<p>
	Known issue: Engine 1 and/or 2 failures (never simultaneously), mainly on the ground but also in the air. (mainly on the ground because that's where I stay)
</p>

<p>
	Supporting Data: The FSUIPC Log shows the follow every time this occurs (example for ENG2):
</p>

<p>
	*** EVENT: Cntrl= 65992 (0x000101c8), Param= 1 (0x00000001) MIXTURE2_LEAN
</p>

<p>
	*** EVENT: Cntrl= 65988 (0x000101c4), Param= 1 (0x00000001) MIXTURE2_RICH
</p>

<p>
	Hypothesis: When the above happens the engine fails, I believe I have also seen the Condition lever "bump" in the Virtual Cockpit View to Emergency Cut Off then back and bounce back to where it was.... at this point I can restart the engine BUT the length of time before it happens again is seconds to minutes.  I believe preventing the mixture change to "LEAN" this the key to stopping this issue.
</p>

<p>
	Attempted changes (none with positive results) <span>:</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>Full reinstall; Bill's v5 Mod (do I also need v1-v4 or is everything included in v5?); unassigned mixture 1 and 2 to throttle quadrants;  disabled/enabled axes filtering in FSUIPC... there are so many variables</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>I have also run FSX without any external controls plugged in (flown with only a keyboard) and there were no issues.  I also had a flight without any failures using all the controls.... I'm dumbfounded what to try next.</span>
</p>

	Hi all.  Just wondering if anyone knows anybody that would be willing to help me with a paint.  I have an old copy of photo shop 7 that I used to change an existing 690 paint to one for my virtual airline. Hi all. At various times while trying to start or taxi, the Return to Home/Continue Flying/View Map screen will appear for no apparent reason, without me prompting it to open by clicking the Esc key. This problem is isolated to my Turbo Commander 690B. Have any of you experienced this problem with this aircraft? My second issue is related to the NTS Test Switch. When I perform the test on the NTS system, the NTS warning lights illuminate when they aren't supposed to during the test. First of all, what is the NTS system. Secondly, Has anyone else had this problem. Thirdly, how can the problem I am facing be rectified?

	Just added this aircraft to my P3DV4.5 hangar along with several other Carenado planes.    When I select the aircraft it loads fine sitting on the airport, but within a few seconds the screen defaults to the P3D End Scenario page. Don't have this problem with other aircraft....

<p>
	Any ideas?

<p>
	Hello Gents
</p>

<p>
	I bought the Carenado Turbo Commander 690B and installed it into the FSX-SE. Here is a problem,which I hope somebody can suggest what to do,or if it is normal and not a problem?
</p>

<p>
	After completing the engine start procedures,I hear that the engines are running at high RPM,although my throttle on the joystick,is at idle position. The joystick is a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro model and is brand new. The calibration on all axis has been done too.
</p>

<p>
	With the throttle at idle position and the condition levers at the lowest position,I still have the sound of the engines running too high. Is this normal?
</p>

<p>
	The X-Plane version of this plane,shows the engines at idle Rpm`s and it sounds correct too.
</p>

<p>
	Any assistance will be much appreciated.
</p>

<p>
	PS. I have no update installed on this 690B and not sure if there is an update either?
</p>

<p>
	Regards

<p>
	Hello Gents
</p>

<p>
	I am using the FSX-SE and have purchased the Carenado Turbo Commander 690B. The plane flies very well and I am enjoying it.
</p>

<p>
	I have watched the videos,regarding the X-Plane version of it and noticed that the engines sound at idle position,are correct.
</p>

<p>
	My version of this aircraft,has the engine sound,much higher than the position of the throttle and condition levers at idle position.
</p>

<p>
	Condition levers at FLT IDLE,but the engine sound is at a much higher Rpm.
</p>

<p>
	Is this a bug?
</p>

<p>
	Brand new Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick and calibrated 100%.
</p>

<p>
	So,in a nut shell,there is no noticeable difference in the engine sounds from start-up,to full throttle. This is very annoying.
</p>

<p>
	On the final approach,I have the throttle position all the way down and also the condition levers at the lowest position. The engine sound is still very high and not at the idle position sound.
</p>

<p>
	Any help will be appreciated.
</p>

<p>
	Regards
</p>

	What am I missing here?  I fire up the turbo commander lite with default scenery at a default airport and get a miselly 15FPS.  I then load the PMDG 747-800 and get 95 FPS and with the piston Turbo Commander I get 84 FPS. Clearly something is amiss here but what?  Thanks

	Have the F1 GTN750 installed where the default GPS was.  Would like to place a GNS530 directly underneath where the comms radios and DME are positioned.  The VC panel bmp shows blank spots for placing gauges here, however, commenting out the radios gauges in the panel.cfg only disables these gauges. They still are there. Is it correct that you can't get rid of these because these are 3D gauges embedded in the interior model?

<p>
	Whilst I realise that with its lack of ground clearance and prop clearance, the Turbo Commander is not an aircraft you would generally use on bush flying type airstrip surfaces, I have seen one operating on a very smooth and fine gravel runway.
</p>

<p>
	Unfortunately it seems that there is engine damage hard coded into the Carenado model, that precludes using the aircraft on any landing surface other than tarmac.
</p>

<p>
	Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this, and/or is bothered by it?  I'm all for realism, but regardless of the aircraft's suitability for the role, I'd like to be able to take the risk if I want to, without an automatic double engine failure as soon as I land on gravel or dirt.
</p>

<p>
	The included aircraft checklist makes reference to not using full reverse if landing on dirt - but it doesn't say DON'T land on gravel or dirt.
</p>

<p>
	Any thoughts?
</p>

<p>
	Cheers.
</p>

	Is anybody else trying to use this plane with Touch controllers in VR in X-plane? Everything works but the throttles. I contacted support about the issue and they said they would look into it about a month ago. But my issue is that when I touch the throttles in the both throttle touch area they jump to 60% power and I have to adjust each independently. Second issue is I cant engage the reverse thrust with the VR touch controllers. As we all know you cant move the plane without engaging the reverse thrust first. I am hoping for a solution to this issue since I really cant use the plane. It is advertised as fully VR compatible but that is in my experience not the case.

<p>
	Hello guys,
</p>

<p>
	Is it just not possible at all to move the condition levers to the cutoff position for engine shutdown in the Carenado 690?  I can't find anything in the manuals about how to accomplish this and I've tried just about everything I can think of in terms of VC clicking.  How do you guys normally go through a shutdown procedure?  I'm wondering if Bill's V3 mods address this issue perhaps?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks!
